It's just that Hasbro as only ever marketed the toys towards girls.

Yay, ponies was always for everyone, eveyrhing just depends on people. But now Hasbro just shown some of their marketing plans and it's all.

Sorry to post again, but I feel like this thread goes to show that some people just dislike what Hasbro does with the show simply because it's Hasbro, or because it's something new. Hopefully this doesn't sound ignorant, I'm sure some of you genuinely dislike this for some other reason.

Oh, no-no, i hope it doesn't because there is nothing really bad in the discussion, just some discussion, and i think everyone already knows that ponies are for everyone, don't worry, no hate.

Meh if the cartoon starts pandering towards boys and becomes a girl and boy show then the magic is gone. Looks like this show is just digging itself further and further.

 

Soooo the show will lose it's magic because it is becoming more accessible towards boys & males as well? Meaning that you are only a Brony because it makes you different or you are doing the, it's cool to like something unpopular kind of thing? That is the only reason I can see you thinking this way, genuine fans of the show will either not mind in the slightest or be happy that finally after years of boys being bullied, for example that school boy in america, for liking my little pony, will lessen because Hasbro are turning around and saying, hey, this can be for guys to. 

 

I think it is a positive in so many ways, more fans, people feeling more at ease to watch the show, bigger community and it is great to see a big company moving forward with the times and breaking the old boy girl stereotypes

The show will change this is inevitable but I'm not part of that demographic that it changes towards that's what I'm saying. It lost it's magic, what it stood for is now gone. I like this move towards a more balanced advertisemnt but I hope this doesnt affect the show too much. We all like it for what it is and nothing has to change, we just want great storries and our favourite characters

Avatar didn't have magic and it actually did get more attention from girls. Hence the strong feminist vibes coming from Korra probably made to put more girls in mind.

I wasn't talking about any comment made on internet women I'm saying that the internet has more women than men thus that polling more than makes up that women are the major audience since even in the internet where there's a smaller population of women it still exceeded male votes.
