Considering all the villains that came and went on MLP, each one was dispatched in a different way. It's hard to tell if each punishment (or lack thereof) was tailor-made specific to each character, but each one was definitely different. The question here is simple: which punishment fit the crime best? Which ones do you think got off too easy?

IMO: Nightmare Moon's was the most fitting, considering that she was only Princess Luna with out-of-control emotions. She was still good at her core, all she needed was to have sense blasted into her. The one I found to be too lenient was Tirek being imprisoned in Tartarus. Being that his only goal was to steal power and destroy the world for no apparent reason, holding him would be a risk not worth taking as he serves no apparent purpose to Equestria. Thus, he deserved to be blown up just like King Sombra. Starlight Glimmer got off easy as well, but considering her reformation owes to plot problems in the episode itself, that's a post for another thread.

I hope no one thinks being encased in stone at-length (and still being aware of what's going on around you) is a lenient fate; I think that punishment would seriously suck.  Discord seemed to endure it fairly well, but that's Discord.  There's no accounting for that weirdo.

I voted for Sombra (fitting) and Starlight (lenient).  I tried not to take Sombra's Fiendship is Magic backstory into consideration, and I very nearly chose Tirek.  As much as blasting might hurt for a second or three, being thoroughly defeated, weakened, and chained and thrown into Tartarus just when you thought you'd won seems like a pretty fitting punishment as well.

And Starlight got off super easy; it's practically a fact.

I think Tirek deserved his the most. It seems like his anger towards Equestria had nothing to do with a lack of friendship in his life, just sheer spite and hatred. Plus his intentions were insanely devious and as we seen in the altered timeline where he was involved, he was destroying everything in his path, which we can assume is what he would have done if not for the mane 6.

Starlight, she is the one that the most lenient punishment, byyyyyyyyyyyyy far. Oh, you brainwished a bunch of ponies, nearly ruining their lives, tried to change the timeline and nearly destroyed everything? All because you lost one friend? Well, let's be friends!!!! So friggin' stupid. Sounds like less of a punishment and more like a damn reward. I am all for forgiveness for sure, but that was just ridiculous.

Sombra seemed to be less a pony and more an incarnation of pure, mindless evil. Destroying him utterly is the only thing fate he deserved. Apparently the comics show that he has a good side, but I haven't read that part.

Chrysalis got off way too easy. In the first comic story, we learn that the changelings were blasted away and landed near a village inhabited by cats. They then proceed to murder every single villager and regain their power easily. In other words, they planned a large-scale terrorist attack, and in return were mildly inconvenienced for a few hours, and a village of innocents were killed as a result.

Fitting: Sombra - The fucker went kablooie.

Lenient: Starlight - Do I even need to explain?

Only one I think almost got off just as easy was Tirek, I'd argue he should've exploded like Sombra

I think Luna deserved her fate the most; because her fate was a GOOD one; she was showed mercy by the elements, they didn't really harm her or imprison her. But, on the other side of the coin, Luna had a VERY long track record of fighting for and protecting equestria meaning she'd EARNED leniency or at least the offer of leniency by virtue of how much she'd done.

Plus, her timeline where she ruled was by far the best, with her subjects seemingly happy and loyal; It wasn't a "Good" timeline, but it was still a far cry from the hellholes that the others were.

I put down Chrysalis's fate as the most lenient... because, well, according to the comics it kind of just ended up in another race somewhere ELSE being genocided, like dumping your zombies in a neighboring country. :P XD

I'd say Tirek's was the most deserving, in that it was the most logical and judicial of the punishments.  He went around absorbing other beings magic and was going to destroy the landscape and for that he was imprisoned back into Hell Tartarus.  I mean isn't that what we do? Take someone who's done bad things and then lock them up? (Yeah there's a TON more to our system but you get my general gist)

Sombra's was also more or less fitting but I just don't like the idea of our heroes needing to kill someone and in such a nonchalant way, so it got docked a few point in my view.

The most lenient by far is Starlight Glimmer, to the point where it starts ruining other villains for me. I mean she brainwashes multiple ponies, magically assaults them, force imprisons them, rewrites time several times over, and assaults a filly and is just instantly forgiven, with absolutely NO consequences for her actions.

The other punishments for Nightmare Moonand Discord seem far too extreme to me (two cases of 'I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream') while Chrysalis's seems like it isn't properly resolved in that they could reappear elsewhere and cause havoc, like they do in the comic.

I can't decide on who deserved their fate the most but I do think the most lenient one is either Starlight or Luna. Starlight deserves a fate worst than Tirek and Luna's change makes no sense. Why is Luna still a princess after what she tried to do?

I'd say Tirek got what he deserved. I would say the same about Sombra but he had too little development to actually say anything about it. As for the most lenient one...I think Chrysalis actually got off lightly if you see what happened to Tirek and Sombra.

The most deserving definitely has to go with King Sombra due to him being a complete monster and basically more of an entity of pure evil, rather than an actual pony.

According to the comics, he was actually more along the lines of a Mr.-Freeze-style Jerk@$$ Woobie.

Anyway, Chrysalis is still the definitive Karma Houdini so far -- in A Canterlot Wedding, she technically (albeit unwittingly) escaped; in IDW #1-4, she merely got put in timeout; and in both FIENDship #5 and IDW #34-37, she flat-out got out of there scot-free -- whereas almost everypony else has been massively b***h-slapped and/or received poignant wake-up calls.

I chose Discord for most fitting punishment.  For the epitome of chaos to be encased in inert, immutable stone for a millennium is definitely a fitting fate.

As for most lenient, Chrysalis without a doubt.  She wasn't actually punished at all, nor did she repent or reform, she was simply allowed to walk free to lick her wounds and collect her strength for the next time.

I said Discord being reformed was the most fitting, because if you think about it, he was the only villian without truly malicious intent. He is obviously one of, if not the most powerful being in the universe. He could have done much worse than choclate rain.

Like chocalate covered BLOOD rain. Good for vampire ponies, not good for everyone else.
