If DHX had an episode about convention culture

And with a packed venue, showed Vinyl Scratch with a generation 3 pony friend, Toola Roola (perhaps as Vinyl's album artist, since TR is a pony who likes to paint and draw), would fans of g4 appreciate the cameo? Or rageflame forever of a gen 3 (in g4 art style) pony befriending and in close proximity to a g4? (Hopefully we're adult enough NOT to)

Who would you want to be paired off in the con episode? I can see it being Spike and Pinkie Pie.

 

Can such an episode lead to surprising, inspired pony merch in our real life conventions? (I would certainly pay for a SDCC CD with Vinyl Scratch's original tracks, like an honest to goodness cd, and cover art done by Toola Roola. Or a high quality sculpt of them being all chummy, or something (like WLF's DiscShy statuette)

If there was some kind of convention-themed episode, I would absolutely want to see Fluttershy be all shy and nervous about such a crowded event. She seems like the type of pony to be overwhelmed by it all, I know I would be. XD

I say let them go for it. I'd watch it.  And if fans freak about G4 Toola Roola, then they shoudl freak about Dashie, Rarity Cherileee, Scootaloo, Sweetie Bell and Pinkie too. 

 

I could see Dashie trying to hide her nerdy side, Rarity critiquing all the cos-plays, and Twilight thinking she's too mature for all this. And spike trying to haggle with vendors.

I think they kind of touched on that with "Three's a Crowd" when Twilight and Cadence went to that Starswirl thing. Not to mention Twi and Dash being total fangeeks in "Daring Don't" talking about DD's adventures while the others looked on like "okay..." 

 

That said, it could be a fun and interesting episode if done right (IF being the keyword there)

When Rainbow Dash goes to Manehattan to attend the "Daring Do Con" she is repulsed by just how many ponies DO NOT WASH during the four day event.

 

(Yes, this is a "THING". I have been to quite a few Anime conventions. People used to joke that soap should be given out with the programs!)

Who would such an episode be "pandering" to, since there are thousands of people from other fandoms who attend conventions, besides Bronies? Take your pick.

The anime thing with Fluttershy was a simple little reference. I highly doubt things like anime actually exist in MLP. And I don't know, I guess randomly adding background ponies and ponies from previous generations would be a little weird, but at the same time it could be interesting. I'm not sure really.

The have comics. They have motion pictures. They don't have television, but why wouldn't they have anime feature films? Oh, and they DO have animation. In the Babs Seed episode, we see part of a "Let's go to the snack bar" type of cartoon, before Babs steps out of it! There is also some simple animation in the old "News Reel" type film about using a tornado to raise water to Cloudsdale. That "Foamy" video I uploaded in an earlier post wasn't specifically meant as they would have anime conventions. I do see Daring Do books being popular enough to warrant a Con for the many fans.

Exactly, and you KNOW there has to be a Starswirl convention somewhere similar to the Abraham Lincoln one that happens every year.

I'd watch it, definitely. I wonder if they'll include the inevitable cringe of such cons as well. I know iCarly made fun of shippers at such an episode...y'know, back when shipping actually wasn't meant to be part of the show...

 

Also, I'd be fine with Vinyl befriending just about anyone. The origin of the pony really doesn't matter to me; it's not like I'd know them. I do hope she'd stay voiceless, though. Somehow that suits her.

so? That's why Wiki's exist. They can get to know her through that (if she shows in a g4 episode). Much of the g4 main cast are actually g3 character, anyway

 

Vinyl probably wouldn't talk. Nodding to what TR or any other pony would be saying is fine.
