Could Applebloom have become like Starlight

Bit of a revelation I had at work, but Starlight and applebloom have alot in common. Maybe if applebloom snuck out of the party like she was planning She would have endded up like starlight.

She doesn't have a horn or anything, so I assume she would've had to become a potion-brewer like Zecora in order to be able to pull off any sort of reality-tampering like Starlight did.

I am pretty sure Apple Bloom has the mental capacity to realize that losing one friend doesn't equal a good motivation to become a cult leader.

It's possible but with a family like the Apples (Applejack, Granny Smith and Big Mac) I don't think she can turn out bad.

She would at least have the support of the family, something that I guess Starlight didn't have, yay for no details whatsoever. The Apple Family is good hearted so I don't see her going down any wrong path.

Great, now I'm picturing Starlight didn't have a family at all even though she obviously seemed well off.

I did think about the Twist incident being a potential trigger for Apple Bloom going down the same path as Starlight, however the sheer irrationality of such a thing is against not only Apple Bloom's good nature, but what the rest of the Apple clan would have wanted for her. If "Bloom and Gloom" was any indication, Apple Bloom is more fearful than vengeful, and the rest of the family's support would have been enough to stop her if she were to go on a warpath.

Sorry, but at her core Starlight was dangerous due to having magical powers; Her entire cult's success relied on her ability to magically steal cutie marks and fell apart the SECOND she lost that power.

 

An earth pony just can't be a real threat in this show's universe as things are, she'd be a B level antagonists at best and could never have been even a minor threat to the mane six or twilight.
