Me too. I’d prefer a few close friends than huge gatherings. Usually. I guess so long as I have that friend or two I can socialize with. Though it’s not like I haven’t just… socialized in a big party before.

could socialize in a big party setting but I would have to know some people there.

I'd say no but every couple months a small group of my previous co workers invite me to a mtg party to play. It's pretty fun I have a good time. :derpy-hi:

Still nope.

All my social interactions are online. Offline, a stranger I remain.

No, I don't like making friends from work (not really surrounded by the country's brightest or curious :eww:) and I haven't made any at any hobbies yet.

I have one work friend (or rather, she USED to work at my work) but she has kids so it's easy to end up in the backburner, haven't spoken in a year and apparently I was the only one initiating conversation or making plans and I shouldn't be the one doing that considering her lifestyle :ough-scoot:

I understand how you feel about the work friends. I only made one true friend there but she's out of town and seems to just have a different lifestyle than me so I guess it was something that just wasn't meant to last. I was also not invited to any of her wedding stuff even though I've met her boyfriend/fiancé so I'm a little upset about that.

I feel like the majority of people's coworkers end up being just that, coworkers. Oftentimes it's difficult to find a commonality outside of the job.

Exactly my trouble... it's not that I'm inherently against the idea of making friendships at work, it's just that it's not very common for me to have anything in common with coworkers. Most of the time, pleasantries and the most surface level chit-chat is the extent of my interaction with them... I tend to observe and overhear stuff a lot at my job and it's also happened multiple times people I have liked chatting with will be talking to coworkers and then express the most, uh, unsavoury opinions I will ever hear... so I'll just go "hmm. just pleasantries with them it is I suppose?" :pinkie-innocent:

I don't have much of a social life beyond online interactions, mainly because I don't like being in crowded laces for very long and it's tough for me to put myself out there and just be social.  I didn't used to be like this, it's something that's developed over the years.  Maybe I'm becoming more agoraphobic as I get older, I don't know.
