gaming Those 'what were they thinking' moments in video games

There's a lot of those moments in Bart Vs The World.

-Press B and A at the same time to super jump.

-Hold A to run. So,there's no running jump, since Bart will stop dead in his tracks after you let go.

-That dumbass slider puzzle.

-When you're invincible,Bart will flash constantly. I don't mean flash like Mario does,I mean that he will literally flash into and out of existence.

Any game that refuses to allow full camera control modification. Even in this day and age there are still games that either won't let you change the up/down and left/right inversion or will only let you change one, often the one you don't need changed.

I also hate when any games has no cutscene skip button.

I also hate when games don't let you pause cutscenes, especially if it skips them when you press the start button.

I had those feelings on the old Ridge Racer Games, many of them.

The first Ridge Racer is fine, it was the first racing game on the Playstation after all, but the game only consists of 2 racing tracks. 2 !

And those 2 arent even different Places, its just 2 slightly different Tracks on the same Road !

But hey at least the console sequel to that has...3...the sequel has 3 different variations of the same Road ! Like..how?

How are those Games so simple, yet got positive critics and spawned a successful franchise that exists to this day?

Oh and by the way, the game has only 2 new cars, all other like 10 cars are from the first game...great.

Than comes the next Sequel, well guess what? Now it has 4 different variations of one Road.

And to make the game feel longer, they decided, they just create an annoying level up system and there are 5 different Classes to play trough...5 times, driving the same 4 roads over and over again, to get...the same 5 Classes again, just with a mirrored street...

And then guess what, you unlock an extra class, consisting of the same 4 Roads again !!

Like...why? Well at least this Game has new Cars...so thats good...i guess.

Whats not good is, that when you play trough the 5 normal clases, all your cars get reseted, that means for the mirror streets, you have to level up your cars all over again.

To make the game even more longer than it should be.

Yeah, i know why its called Rage Racer...because i sure got angry with it.

Part 4 is a good game, different roads this time, cooler graphics, new cars, A STORY MODE ! ...thats good, im fine with that.

But Part 5...oh god, it has like 7 different Tracks, that sounds good, right?

But guess what, some of the Roads are just a Remake of the same Roads from part one...just with more boring looking surroundings...and also there is no story mode anymore...

And all of the 7 Tracks are again different Versions of the same Road...meaning that almost all the Tracks look stylish the same...boring and grey.

And you only get like 6 Cars i believe...HOW WAS THIS MADE? HOW DID THEY THOUGHT THIS WAS IN IMPROVEMENT???

WHAT WERE THEY THINKING???

Ridge Racer is one of the worst gaming franchises i have ever seen and its one of best reviewed and successful ones i have ever seen, that feel so bad.

I dont understand how this series got so many fans.

Back in the original Jurassic Park game for SNES, you could never save your game no matter how much you've progressed, there are only inffinite continues if you lose lives. Specially jarring because the game is ridiculously huge and the "ending" isn't even worth the efford. Likewise, in the Zoo Tycoon reboot for Xbox One, the game gives you pre-made animal exhibits, which greatly clashes with the previous games where you could create exhibits of any shape, size and form. Not just that, but you're also given obscenely huge maps to play on and you can't even fill up 40% of them because of the zoo limit

Pretty disapointing, specially since what made the previous games of the series so strong was the unbound creativity when building your zoo.
