ggg-2 3,555 March 30, 2016 Share March 30, 2016 Brotherhooves Social was one of my favorite season 5 episodes and, especially with him being one of my favorite ponies, the ending was one of Big Mac's best moments in the entire series. Could lightning strike twice with him, or was this just a one time triumph? Don't be a nerd. Join the herd!

Dark Qiviut 22,606 March 30, 2016 Share March 30, 2016 (edited) Honestly, I don't know. Was the ending excellent? No doubt. But the unfortunate implications thanks to the stereotypical transphobic comedy wasted the entire concept, and to center Big Mac — the quietest character in the show and one of the most likable — around that doesn't help. Luminance 2,187 March 30, 2016 Share March 30, 2016 Possible, but what if it was the opposite? Introduce a stallion/colt focused event and maybe some of the mane 6 would want to join.
Concerned Bystander 2,905 March 30, 2016 Share March 30, 2016 There's no reason why they couldn't do another Big Mac episode. Personally I'd love it if they did an episode based on 'Zen and the art of gazebo repair' from the comics. Of course that'll never happen, which is a shame. I'm really not sure what they could do for him bar a 'day in the life of...' style episode. Suddenly thrusting him into the middle of a plot driven episode without a very good reason could possibly feel a little bit forced.
Moon Sugar 532 March 30, 2016 Share March 30, 2016 If you're asking for more Big Mac episodes--I'm all for it! He's a very interesting character. I don't much care for him when we pick into his mind during the comics--He's almost to cynical. ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ☆★☆ It's you I love ☆★☆
Wind Chaser 4,768 March 31, 2016 Share March 31, 2016 Big Mac's inferiority complex and heroic fantasies make for a very interesting potential character trait to explore. The most unfortunate barrier to that is his introversion and lack of communication. However, there's one character he could potentially bond with over that who has similar issues, and that's Spike, who tends to be sidelined on Mane 6 adventures and never really acknowledged that in any episode other than "Dragon Quest". Like "Brotherhooves Social" was dragged down by its heavy-handed exploitation of gender norms for comedy which distracted from the central conflict, "Dragon Quest" was bogged down by its unilaterally negative portrayal of dragons as set up by both itself and "Secret of My Excess". I could see both characters having active imaginations and a strong friendship with each other. If there was an episode between the two, I'd like to see it combine Spike's interest in comics from "Power Ponies" with Big Mac's alicorn form from "Do Princesses Dream of Magic Sheep?" and to show creativity as an outlet for that which cannot be expressed casually.

KatonRyu 1,036 March 31, 2016 Share March 31, 2016 It probably could, but I actually like Big Mac as the one who doesn't say much and any episodes focusing on him would have to get around that. Although I really liked the way they did that in the comics by giving him an inner monologue.
BrawnyCharger 513 April 2, 2016 Share April 2, 2016 I would love to see more character development for Big Macintosh, But they should do it in steps just to make sure it's not so sudden. I'd like to see him: Tell Applejack about his desires to become a hero just like her. Hang out with and develop a friendship with Shining Armor, Develop a relationship between him and Fluttershy. (I ship Fluttermac) Participate in events that Applejack usually participates in such as the Canterlot Rodeo. More Ponytones performances. Regain the Turkey Gala title that Pinkie Pie allegedly stole from him. Interact with other Mane 5 members. More quality time with Applebloom. Doing small heroic deeds and work his way up from there. Showcase his mathematical skills. Participate in the Siblinghooves (formerly Sisterhooves) Social (as himself) alongside both Applejack and Applebloom. Step in and save Equestria representing the Element of Honesty in place of an injured Applejack. Hopefully we'll see them follow up on Big Mac's character development. snowflame 189 April 2, 2016 Share April 2, 2016 There probably will not be another Big Mac episode for a while, but him having a big role in a episode seems quite possible, hopefully he keeps taking in the future.
