Is changeling in season 6 opener a hoax?

I thought it was a hoax, but part of me thinks its real. Did some brony just play an elaborate prank? I know in season 5, Starlight made brief cameos before showing up in the season 5 finale. So is anyone convinced that the changelings are going to be in the season 6 finale? I am not convinced... Hasbro doesn't use villains twice. The previous changeling cameo was Kevin in episode 100 but that was done for fun. As much as I want Chrysalis and the changelings in season 6's finale, I really think its not going to happen. Either DHX is trolling or a brony doctored an image.

Only valid reason that it IS a changeling is that why is a lone black figure flying towards the Crystal Empire? It can be a pony. I suspect it could be a changeling drone. From an animation perspective, you wouldn't just put that there for no reason. If it meant nothing, they would have left the sky blank.

The changelings were seriously underused in the season 2 finale so maybe it's a redemption? I also want to believe in the return of Chrysallis but realistically, revenge is so cliche in antagonists that it takes the story away.

We may never know for sure, either a pony or a changeling drone, hmm. Maybe they will confirm something soon.

The theory floating around is that Chrysalis is going to kidnap Flurry Heart at an attempt for revenge against Twilight and Cadence. That would be an interesting finale.. Imagine a finale that didn't end well. Have Chrysalis accomplish her goal and have the season 7 opener where Chrysalis is defeated. I think a negative cliff hanger makes things exciting.

I wouldn't hold my breath. The Animators did a few of these in the past, just to say "look bronies. We did a thing. :D"

 

Sometimes, the animators like to do little eastereggs, that not even the writers know. It can mean something, but i think it dosen't mean anything.

Starlight Glimmer's cameos weren't a thing though, they actually intentionally used it for the future.

Yes, but we kinda expected her to be returning. I didn't even needed 2 cameos to know that. Also, remember Castlemania and everybody expecting the pony of shadows to be the final villain? Nothing came of that.

The animators pulled these things ALL the time in season 4. (Flutterbat's fang, the shadowy figure at the end of Castle-mania, Slenderpony, just to name 3) It's probably just an Easter egg. Heck, the random changeling at the wedding in season 5 was originally supposed to lead up to a one-off gag, but it was cut for time, like many jokes in Slice of Life. (including an imagine spot of a "Devil Went Down to Georgia"-style duel between Sombra and Tavi which would have been bucking amazing)

Season 2 was the most action oriented, it had Discord and Chrysalis in one season

Season 3 was Twilight being tested for her Princess Role

Season 4 the Rainbow Power keys

Season 5 was equality vs individuality 

 

I am saying that the season's theme is established within the first two episode. Flurry Heart isn't a theme, since she's an infant she could be used as a McGuffin to advance the plot of the season. What better thing to do, then to have the changeling Queen abduct her and use her as leverage against Twilight and Cadence?

I wasn't asking about your theory, but since we're at it, i am not really that excited about seeing her again and i rather would like to have another original villain.

 

Can i understand why people want chrysalis back? Sure and i wouldn't be mad if she does. But i am always for something new and fresh.

I am tired of new villains honestly, I know it's a slice of life show , but new=/= good all the time. And the reason why people want more Chrysalis, Sombra, The Sirens and Tirek is because all those villains are in the shadow of Discord. Discord is not even a villain anymore and he has the most appearances compared to the others.. That is because the writers realized he was better as a comedic relief model and not a villain. 

 

Starlight Glimmer is not the worst villain, that dishonor belongs to principal Cinch. I don't like Starlight Glimmer for these reasons 

 

1.) She's the first villain to have a season all to herself, even me being a Chrysalis fan, I wouldn't want a whole season centered around my favorite villain.

 

2.) She is retcon of Sunset Shimmer which proves that Sunset Shimmer is either A.) Not canon in the show B.) has flat out been forgotten by Twilight.

 

Starlight was the end of new villains for me, I would rather have the older villains get more time to shine.

I mentioned Starlight Glimmer because you made a comment about new villains all the time. She was only mentioned because I gave her a chance and it didn't work. So instead of new villains, just don't create them. Not every finale needs to have a villain in it, or they could do something else.

I'm thinking its real, and I think its the same changeling that showed up in the episode 100 wedding ceremony. My thoughts are there is one changeling, probably one of Cranky's old pals (since it was his wedding and he was sitting like he was invited) , who is rogue from the hive and is trying to make peace with the ponies. At least that's my head canon on the matter.
