ManaMinori 4,145 May 5, 2016 Share May 5, 2016 When you pony hunt and happen to stumble across past gen pony things for cheap (personally I only come across old DVD's), do you snatch it up, for the sake of having physical past gen merch? Or because you actually like it? I found Twinkle Wish Adventures, brand new, for 5 bucks, which was a pretty good deal. But I didn't get it (even though I really wanted to), because I could watch it online, Under the Jellicle Moon- a site with cuteness, cat boys, and comic strips / Star Dreams Fanclub
Leave a Whisper 703 May 5, 2016 Share May 5, 2016 It depends on if I like it and if it's manky, if it's in my meager ability to restore.
Moon Sugar 532 May 5, 2016 Share May 5, 2016 I'd like to collect some more MLP merch, but I just haven't had the time to go into thrift/consignment/antique stores to go scouting. I'd like to find a posey since I had one as a little girl. ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ☆★☆ It's you I love ☆★☆
Leave a Whisper 703 May 22, 2016 Share May 22, 2016 I found a Seashell for 5 bucks because she had no tail and head/body mismatch.
Jennabun 1,579 May 27, 2016 Share May 27, 2016 I only buy the merch if it's in good condition and I really like it. I'm THAT person at the flea market/antique mall that sits on the floor and will dig through a basket of old, played-with ponies looking for the one or two that is not torn to bits haha. I've found so many great G3's for cheap. It's fun to hunt around and be selective. 1 pleasant pegasister ✿ fluttershy fangirl ✿ cupcake connoisseur
EverEverOn 346 July 15, 2016 Share July 15, 2016 I always find older ponies for low prices. Last weekend I went to a toy show and found a basket of G3 ponies for $3 each. They were all in bad shape, with stains and tangled hair, but I bought one anyway and fixed her up. Now she looks good as new.
Fhaolan 4,483 July 26, 2016 Share July 26, 2016 It's interesting that everyone is finding G3's, but G1's are much harder to come by at yard sales. I was under the impression that the original G3 sales weren't as high as the G1, but the number that seem to be floating around the market now seems to say the opposite. In this area no G2's makes sense, given that they were not for sale in North America so are pretty rare here. Anyone from our European contingent? Do you find G2's at rummage sales and the like? ~Sassy Dashie~ 712 August 14, 2016 Share August 14, 2016 I buy them because I like collecting them. It's also fun to clean them up if they're in bad shape. pawpatrolbab 10 August 24, 2016 Share August 24, 2016 I used to solely buy the older gen stuff cause it was there for my collection, but now I rarely ever purchase since I'm so picky with my ponies!
Spootiepatootie 19 December 20, 2016 Share December 20, 2016 (edited) 2nd hand G3s would be easier to find atm because the first owner would just be starting to outgrow them. Most G1s would already be in a collector's stash or in landfill. Edited December 20, 2016 by Spootiepatootie
