Slumberfur was surprised. "I see" His claws sank into the ground, he knew what it was like to be picked on by other cats, since he was originally kittypet, and heard about it all the time in first few moons. "I didn't have any idea that you weren't born in Thunderclan." Slumberfur's voice's tone stayed in same friendly tone the whole time.

 

"You weren't here when it happened," Owlheart pointed out, his voice non-accusing or snapping, just stating a fact, "nor were a lot of the younger warriors or apprentices. Though I suspect word got around from the other older warriors."

 

He glanced around the clearing for a brief moment. "No doubt you saw the looks I was getting last night."

@@Wolves, "Yes, that would be fine with me," Midnightstar replied. "I'm feeling a bit tired, plus I need to go around the camp and check on everycat. We'll need to post sentries; they'll have to be apprentices, mostly, as we don't have enough warriors who are well enough to be able to stand guard all night."

Twigblaze nodded, and as the rest of the party who had been selected to attend the gathering headed back to camp, she picked out three cats to take with her to look for the much-needed herbs on Thunderclan soil. They broke off from the rest of the group and headed off in the direction of the twoleg path. They nervously crossed it, glancing from left to right repeatedly until they were sure they were safe. Twigblaze jokingly wrinkled her nose at the scent of the opposing clan, but soon began collecting herbs for the sick Shadowclan cats. They were very plentiful here; no wonder Thunderclan were doing better than Shadowclan fighting against this illness.

As soon as the small group of Shadowclan cats had gathered as many herbs as they could carry, they once again raced over the twoleg path and bounded back towards the Shadowclan camp.

"Yes, you seemed to be pretty interesting for some cats now you mention it, although I didn't really pay much attention to that, being curious about it myself" Slumberfur stated voice now little bit more serious, he paused and looked around for a moment " I know what it feels like to have feeling of blaming eyes staring at you."

Owlheart nodded in agreement, and blinked as the memory of Slumberfur first coming to the Clan flashed in front of him. He recalled how he was one of the few who elected to let the kittypet join ThunderClan, and how one cat snapped that the opinion of a ShadowClan runaway didn't matter. He was just glad their leader didn't share their thoughts.

 

"I'm sure some of the Clan are thinking I'm planning to return to my birth Clan," he muttered, glaring down at his raking claws, "but I will prove otherwise."

Slumberfur heard Owlheart muttering, he didn't hear everthing but was able to make conclusion about what he said.

"Cat should not be judged by where they are born, but by their actions, and you have proven to be loyal Thunderclan warrior already in my opinion."

Slumberfur heard Owlheart muttering, he didn't hear everthing but could make conclusion about what he said.

"Cat should not be judged by where they are born, but by their actions, and you have proven to be loyal Thunderclan warrior already in my opinion." 

 

Owlheart gave Slumberfur a small nod of agreement. "Exactly, and you have done likewise." He meowed.

 

He glanced back up at the Highrock, and flicked his tail. "A kittypet once became came to ThunderClan, so I heard. He eventually became one of its strongest leaders. Use that as some motivation."

He appreciated Owlheart's comment, it was good to hear that there was, at least a story about successful kittypet, even that he never thought himself becoming more than a warrior and still didn't. Not because of his past, but because he didn't have skills to lead others. "And you try to ignore those who don't trust you, they are just stupid and sooner or later they will notice that."

Silverstar walked out from her den, she shivered though it was a warm day out. She slowly took a patrol out towards the Windclan and Riverclan border, she decided to do a spot of hunting as her clan mates began to reclaim the border. She slowly walked along the border and sniffed before stepping over it, she paced several steps over it thinking she smelt a fox, though the scent soon disappeared. She slowly backtracked though she couldn't find the scent again. She snorted and walked back to the border.

 

She blinked confused suddenly, she blinked around the strange terrain, she had just been in her den, hadn't she? She walked forward, deeper into the riverclan territory, her pelt began to burn as she wondered though the strange territory, she paused and sat down. She was quite lost indeed, though she glanced at the nearby river and took a drink, she felt better after several sips, and she had begun to think clearer, though she was still slightly confused thinking she was still within Windclan.

He appreciated Owlheart's comment, it was good to hear that there was, at least a story about successful kittypet, even that he never thought himself becoming more than a warrior and still didn't. Not because of his past, but because he didn't have skills to lead others. "And you try to ignore those who don't trust you, they are just stupid and sooner or later they will notice that."

 

Owlheart nodded once, and suppressed a purr of laughter at Slumberfur's comment about those who didn't trust him were stupid.

 

"Not stupid exactly," he murmured to the former kittypet, "they just need to be convinced that I can be trusted. And I plan to show them just that."

Darkpaw stretched and walked outside of the apprentices' den, he had been sleeping well and was full of energy. He saw Slumberfur at the Highrock with Owlheart, he was surprised to see his mentor already awake but didn't think much about it and started walking towards them.

Featherfur hissed as he swore he caught the scent of Riverclan somewhere nearby. It seemed that Lavenderpaw had smelled them too.

"What are they doing here?" Featherfur muttered, lashing his tail angrily. "We should have known that they wouldn't let us take the horseplace for ourselves with such ease."

"There's more of them than us - if we want to start a fight and ward them off of our newly claimed territory, we'll need to head back to camp and gather more warriors," an older warrior name Goldpetal chimed in.

"And alert Silverstar," Lavenderpaw added with a nod. Featherfur agreed, and silently led the way back go the Windclan camp.

 

"Silverstar? Are you alright?" he asked as he entered her den. Where was she? "Silverstar?"

Silverstar had just managed her way back to camp after her morning wondering, she felt better though she glanced at the warrior confused not knowing who he was, then her eyes regained there sharp composure. "Featherfur, is it true that Riverclan has broken the peace?" she asked. She frowned thinking about what she could do about such a transgression, this had been agreed at a gathering, if it was just against her clan she might just let it go, but against Starclan, that was unacceptable. She could go over to the camp and ask why, or she could do something more, extreme. 

 

She glanced around at her warriors, "Form two patrols, i want two warriors for every apprentice, the first patrol is to attack the Riverclan camp, I will be leading this patrol personally. the second will remark the border, as it was agreed at the gathering, and if there is a Riverclan patrol there, then deal with it. if not come support my patrol after you've marked the border" she growled. "i will not have Riverclan disrespect our warrior ancestor's over greed" she hissed.

She lashed her tail, "Redear, prepare traveling herbs along with whatever you will need to help our wounded, both our patrols will leave tonight, so make sure you are well rested" she finished.

His ear twitched as he heard soft padding from behind, and he turned to see Darkpaw approaching his mentor. He gave the apprentice the smallest nod of greeting.

 

Part of him couldn't help but wonder what a younger, more impressionable cat like Darkpaw thought of him, or if any of the older warriors had told him about his origins.

Featherfur was slightly startled when SIlverstar's voice suddenly sounded behind him. He turned around to face her, and was about to ask where she had been until she began by saying that two patrols should raid Riverclan.

'A good excuse to finally test my fighting skills again, after all this time...' he thought. 'Silverstar may be quick to come to these kind of conclusions. Temperamental, even, but Riverclan should not be trespassing on what in now our territory.'

He continued to listen to the words of his leader before concluding that he would volunteer to lead the second patrol. Without hesitation, he rushed over the Lavenderpaw and asked her to join him, then proceeded to gather more warriors and apprentices to help mark the border again if it had been claimed by Riverclan now.

"So... turf wars?" the ever enthusiastic Lavenderpaw asked as they neared the entrance of the camp. Featherfur nodded.

"Sort of."

"I remember I had to take mites off the elders nearly every day when I was an apprentice," he murmured to the younger cat, "it's not pleasant, but elders are very grateful for hard work and good manners."

Silverstar led the patrol out of the camp, her silver fur shining in the moonlight. She watched her second patrol branch off at the border, ready to renew it, she then slowly crept though the Riverclan border with her patrol. A fully able battle patrol, all pump up on traveling herbs. She slowly made her way though the reeds, she kept herself low, if Riverclan found out before she had broken though the camp, it would be chaos. She glanced upwards and scented the air, the scent of Riverclan increased, they were near the camp.

 

She crept slowly forward, the terrain slowly rising, she continued used to the gradient of the rough hillside. She continued until she was at the top of the hill and glanced down at the Riverclan camp, soon it would be chaos. She signaled her warriors, she rushed forwards towards the camp, she smirked as she saw the guard rush inside and warn his clan mates, she smirked knowing it was almost too late. 

 

She pushed though the camp's entrance and tackled the warrior driving him back, her claws unsheathed she slashed at his muzzle, unleashing her fury, her claws ripped out clumps of fur forcing him to retreat, she let out a yowl as she chased the beaten warrior. The rest of her warriors slowly bursting though the unprotected entrance.

Darkfur yawned as he limped out of the medicine den, his wounds were feeling much better than the day prior.

He walked towards the high rock, slowing down to sit and lick his fur, after two days of no washing it felt pretty good to feel nice and clean again.

Slumberfur nodded as agreement "I'm surprised that he didn't complain about it too much" "I'm sure he will be good warrior when time comes" Slumberfur remembered himself as apprentice, he had been helping elders a lot when he was a apprentice but not because he was always in trouble, he wasn't, but because he tried to proof that he can be honorable clan cat like everyone else.

"I wonder when you are getting apprentice, you have been warrior longer than I am after all."

Owlheart blinked, as Slumberfur had made a good point. He hadn't received an apprentice once since becoming a warrior, and Slumberfur, a former kittypet who had even less time with the Clan, had Darkpaw.

 

Did Kitestar truly not trust him because of his ShadowClan roots? Or had StarClan not yet decided it was his time to become a mentor?

 

"So do I. Perhaps Kitestar has not yet found the right apprentice for me yet."

thunderclan camp

 

Moonshine woke up and stretched. for a few moments she thought that all the crazy stuff that had happened yesterday was nothing but a dream but soon she realised that is wasn't. She walked out of her den to the clearing and started to clean herself a bit and make sure her fur was looking nice and shiny. she saw that darkfur had also woken up and we was also cleaning himself, it was a good sign that he could to that again. 

 

willowpaw had also woken up, she stumbeled out of her den with sleepy eyes, she had a weird dream about the twoleg place but she couldn't ecaxtly recall what she had dreamed about. The only thing she knew is that she hadn't rested much tonight and that she was still tired. She looked around to see if her mentor was awake already but she was nowhere to be seen yet so she washed herself a bit in order to wake herself up. She saw owlheart and slumberfur talking to eachother and she saw darkpaw walk off to the elders den, not much for her to do there. She sight and sat down and looked around for something to do.

"That is true," Owlheart nodded in agreement, and swayed his tail with amusement at Slumberfur's comment. Obviously he hadn't shaken some kittypet habits, but he was still a model warrior. Though, it may explain where he got his name.

 

"It will certainly give me more to do, I'm sure," he added.
