I never understand when you somehow get out alive from a major gunfight and then your character dies by falling like a meter done something.

What I remember, deadly water. Even in modern games nowadays there are still some, where jump into water is instant-dead. If there is an explanable reason, like sharks or so, fine, but simply just touching it? Ooookaaaay

Games where you and other characters can heal via health regeneration or potions or whatever, but then a dramatic cutscene happens where a character is dying and, for arbitrary reasons, you can't just wait 5 seconds for their health to restore or use a potion to heal them.
