i don't see how harry potter is relevant

yeah, messenger owls are used in the books but really the topic would be no different if it was just "what's your favorite kind of owl"

anyway, as something of an owl enthusiast my favorite type of owl is the australian barking owl, but since there's no option for that I'm just gonna put my vote down for great grey

I like Great Horned owls, but since they're not in the Harry Potter series I voted for the Snowy Owl.
