general Weird rumors

A thread where weird rumors go to be discussed and dissected.

There was once a rumor that Into The Void by Nine Inch Nails was going to be in Zootopia. This would have been amazing considering how good the song is:

BUT, the only evidence that has been seen was on imdb and Wikipedia, both being uncredible sources. I have no idea why this was, but as aforementioned, if I had heard this in the movie out of nowhere, I would have shit myself in the theater. Very uncomfortable.

What weird things have you heard on the internet (or in real life) that are weird/fake/hilarious

That Kanye West had tried to copyright the E minor chord. It turned out to be from a joke article written by a satire website like the Onion, but some people (surprisingly) take those websites seriously and the rumor circled around for about a week. I wasn't sure about it when I heard about it. It sounded fake, but at the same time it seems like something Kanye West would try.

There were rumors that millions of copies of the E.T video game were buried in a landfill in New Mexico which was an infamous gaming urban legend for quite a while.

It actually ended up being proven true.

Well it ended up being around 700,000 cartridges of Atari games including E.T but for the most part it was true.

Weird rumor has it that an ancient civilization lives deep within a stratovolcano called Mt. Shasta in Northern California. Some had sighted strange activity up in the mountain and it's topographic prominence only heightens it as a superstitious place.

I don't know if this is true or not...

The story is that while filming "The Wizard of Oz", and entire day of shooting had to be done over the next day. While singing "Ding Dong The Witch is Dead, the little people playing the munchkins sang it with a "B" in place of the "W". This wasn't noticed until they viewed the "rushes" that night.

I haven't heard any weird rumors lately, but the rumor mentioned in the OP is really weird though. Zootopia didn't have that music in it, so I guess it was nothing but a false rumor.

*totally not up to any shenanigans* :ithastolookpretty:
