Finally arriving in town, Gold Leaf notices a commotion Perhaps a large gathering of friends? He thinks to himself, taking refuge behind a nearby wall. A sales pony notices him, "what are you doing back there?" he asks with a taint of concern in his voice. I've been caught snooping!! thinks Gold Leaf, clearly startled. "I'm just...umm...." mutters Gold leaf quietly, as he blushes a deep shade of red. He realizes he needs to get out of this situation....but how?. Spotting a nearby bush, Gold Leaf makes a trot for it, where he decides to hide. From inside the bush he can see all the townspeople look very confused, and clearly know the location of his hiding as they all blankly stare over in his direction.

He said, and pointed his screwdriver at Derpy, who stopped and looked at him in anger.

Gold Leaf looks at Ashwing timidly from his bush, then finally decides to walk out. "Hello, my name is Gold Leaf" he exclaims, holding out one hoof for a shake. He smiles at Ashwing and acts as if hes completely forgotten hes just made a fool of himself.

Ivy blinked and at all of what was going on, and then looked at everypony, He was right there was something wrong with her eyes. But she took a carrot a threw the bits at the orange coloured pony. She slowly took a bite out of it “hmm… looks like this day just got interesting.”

"Maybe she's just green with envy that Ditsy's the only one that goes with you on your trips?"

"He must be a charmer, with that great attitude of his." She said, sarcastically.

"Must be!" There was along pause.

"I don't like carrots i bought this because it was there..." she frowned at the carrot.

Ali looked at the carrot, then back at Ivy.

 

"That's a waste of money, in my opinion." She said.

Ivy grined "well... you have to spend your pay check on at lest one stupid thing!" she joked. I'm such a idiot Ivy thought to her self .

He pressed a button on his stick, and a laser pointer struck the gray mare in front of her.

A green flame enveloped her, and when it died down, she wasn't there any more.

Instead in her place stood an insect-like pony, hissing heavily at him.

"Doooocccttoooorrrr!!"

Ali looked at the creature suprisingly. The conversation with Ivy had thrown the Doctor from her mind.

 

"Isn't that a...." she began.

Before she could complete her sentence, the thing jumped for the Doctor, who quickly tried to shoot it in a leg, but it just went through a hole.

"Now that's just cheating."

The thing started hitting him hard, but before it could give him the finishing blow, the Doctor pointed his laser in between it's eyes, making it suddenly stop and back away in pain.

It then suddenly exploded in a vast array of forms, from Ms. Cake to Spike himself, all while a soul shattering scream filled the air.

When the green flames finally died down, it just layed there, not moving.

"..... Nevermind. What was that?"

"A changeling" he said, with a frown.

"a creature who feeds on the same brainwaves as 'love' by morphing into somepony their prey feels close to."

He walked next to it.

"they live all over Equestria, but their population hardly goes over that of Ponyville, so they're quite rare. The real question is... Where's Ditzy?"

Silence followed the Doctors words.

 

"Changelings...." Ali said, trailing off.

"I've only met them once before, but they don't seem very fond of me, willing to blow their cover just so they can kill me."

He walked past them, directed to Carrot Top's stand.

"Ummm...." Ali said. "Doesn't EVERYTHING try to kill you?"

Ivy just looked at the motionless body He just killed... Ivy looked up "So... are they ponies... or something else" He voice unsteady. She'd never seen a thing die in front of her before! She then paused “Doctor what if there more?!”
