Retro*Derpy 3,325 Friday at 03:28 PM Share Friday at 03:28 PM I like teachers that enforce more practical teachings then memorize and regurgitate. Things that are more relevant to what you'll actually be doing.
Raskolnikov 1,716 Friday at 06:32 PM Share Friday at 06:32 PM (edited) Ones that engage the class and encourage critical thinking and discussion rather than just lecture AT you. Have good enough social skills to encourage students and critique them in a positive manner than a destructive one. Passionate about their subject to a degree their excitement about the material makes you like it too. Can think out of the box and come up with creative and unconventional ways of doing a lecture in a way that promotes better learning. Oh, shouldn't forget - they don't get offended at difficult questions or challenges to what they're saying, and can openly admit to not knowing how to answer a question rather than give evasive and defensive non-answers. A rare kind but a gem when they come by, those are capital T teachers who truly earn their mentor status and aren't just petty failed authoritarians towards their students with a God complex about their position. Fluttershutter 2,876 Saturday at 12:18 AM Share Saturday at 12:18 AM I think the best teacher would: 1. Make learning fun and interesting. 2. Make it visual, and hopefully interactive, not just lecture. 3. Not give homework. If the learning is engaging, it's not necessary. I've had a few really good teachers. Almost all had some homework but they were entertaining and made things interesting.

Avery 221 Saturday at 06:51 PM Share Saturday at 06:51 PM I have a professor who actually worked hard to make sure her students all passed her class. She is such a mother figure to every students and we all love and respect her as our professor. She was one of the many who have all her students passed her courses. She was chemistry professor which was not easy to teach, let alone have all the students passed. She got fired unfortunately because professors were jealous of her and pushes the board of education to fired her. The university needs students to fail so they can repeat the course for money making business sake. It was hard for me personally… I worked with her and was her student. She was the only one who keeps me sane in my darkest time during my college years. Blessed her heart and I only wish the best for her wherever she is at right now.

ExplosionMare 21,317 Sunday at 12:06 PM Share Sunday at 12:06 PM Teachers who actually try to make the lessons engaging rather than handing us textbooks or worksheets to just "figure out" are the best! The more personable a lesson is (if that is applicable), the better it'll stick! 1 Boom!
