The Mirror pond

Have you ever wondered: How many times can the mirror pool duplicate? Will it ever run out of magic? Will it refuse to duplicate so many? I have a theory. I think that the mirror pool was powered to run just as long as a pony's magic. In other words, I don't think that the pond will ever 'run out of magic'. But I think it might not be able to duplicate the same thing so many times. However, in "Too Many Pinkie Pies", there were so many! But, I still think it has some maximum of power it cannot run at.

It can duplicate infinitely according to the show. It's basically mitosis and exponential growth.

 

2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64, 128, 256, etc.

I don't think that there are any limits to how many times the mirror pool can multiply clones.

Since the copies went back to the pool after they were dispatched, I feel like the pool consists of spirits that stay trapped there until they are called on to play the part of a copy, gaining some basic personality aspects of the original that apparently become more self-aware over time as we saw from the escaped copy.

 

Therefore it seems logical there is a finite limit of copies that can be made.
