Indicus smiled with a small sigh, "I'm glad I was able to help out then. I still loved the tabloid headlines back then and even now, 'Night Guard Captain sleeping with lunar princess'"

 

Indicus laughed, "The theories were hilarious some had me bedding you and Celly and some even decided the other two princesses were in on a harem with me and you two. Next I bet definitely when Crystal and I marry there will be even more crazy theories."

Luna giggles "the scandal those headlines caused, though I still don't know how they found out, we were in the privacy of my bed chambers" she says thoughtfully then nods "I can imagine them now New Changeling Plot to Take Over Equestria she quotes then sighs "It's going to take a while for ponies to truly understand our two dear friends here aren't here to take over the world" she says then hugs Crystal was crying "shh, shh I won't let anypony harm you sweetheart" she says, kissing the crying mare's nose.

Indicus could almost feel Crystal's fear as if it was a tangible item. He instinctively pressed up to Crystal in a bid to comfort her and reassure Crystal that she was fine and he was with her.

 

Indicus recalled the last time he felt Crystal's emotions take on a almost physical feeling. Indicus decided to ask about the results of a bond between a Changeling Queen and non changeling another time, for now he would comfort Crystal.

Crystal soon begun to calm down and the small holes that were appearing on her body were healing up. She sighs "I-I'm sorry everypony, I just..don't want to cause any trouble" 

 

Luna smiles and nuzzles her "you won't darling, not at all, so don't you worry your pretty little head about it, you just worry about having a future with Indicus" she kisses her cheek

Indicus holds Crystal close to himself, "Don't worry about causing trouble you are not trouble for me and honestly that is all that matters. Forget what some damn noble will think of you, what strangers may think. Because I think the world of you, I would lay down my life to save yours. I will willingly bear anything, do anything for you. Because I love you and that is what matters." Indicus kissed Crystal without a second thought.

Crystal smiles and nods as she nuzzles him "you better not die, our future foals need a father around" she says and kisses him on the muzzle and cuddles up close to him.

 

Shaded smiles "You won't have to worry, Indicus is just as hard to kill as Lulu and Celly"

Indicus smiled warmly, "Don't worry I'm not ready to die yet, I have a sexy Changeling Queen waiting for me when I get back. Besides like Shaded said, anyone who tries will find I'm not an easy target. Did I mention the sexy Changeling Queen that will be waiting for me when this is said and done." Indicus stated with a sly smirk giving Crystal another kiss.

Crystal was blushing extremely deeply and heavily "M-me sexy?" she asks and nuzzles him and kissing back before she hears Luna giggling "You can be quite sexy when you want to be darling," she says, making Crystal blush even more.

Takes a moment to savor the feeling of Crystal's kiss. "Well I better get started. I want to at least scout the area and maybe catch one or two of the thugs and ask a few choice questions." Indicus reluctantly stated. "I'll be back by supper, also Shaded if you want to come you can or you can spend a little time catching up." Indicus looked at Night  Wing. "Night Wing, anything else I need to know before I set off?"

Night Wing looks at the map "I'd suggest with Double Diamond's jewelry store, aaaand..Chocolate Swirl and Candy Heart's candy and malt shop, those are the two that have been having the most trouble with them, as for the guards we believe who have been doing this, their names are Gabriel Light and Speed Light, brothers" she says as she spits at the mention of their names.

 

Shaded smiles "I think I'll reacquaint myself with these two lovely mares here" he says with a wink to Luna and Celestia

Indicus nodded, "Thank you Night Wing, I'll look into it and hopefully be back by supper time." With that Indicus headed off into the town his destination clear in his own head, It was not long till he arrived at the aforementioned locations and saw both were close to each other. "Well here we are." Indicus entered Double Diamond jewelry and started looking around.

Double Diamond sees him and smiles "Good afternoon sir, is there anything I can help you with?" he asks and goes to greet him properly "My name is Double Diamond and this is my shop Diamond Dozen" he says "Welcome, welcome, so, got a special marefriend you want to buy a gift for? I have the best diamond necklaces and earrings in Canterlot"

Indicus shook his head, "Maybe some other time. I am here because of rumors of guards extorting several businesses yours included. I was sent to investigate this. So I have some questions for you if you don't mind." Indicus stated in a level but still friendly tone.

He nods "this way please sir" he says, leading him to his office and sits at his desk, "It's been going on for about two years now, some of us, myself and Chocolate Swirl flat out refuse to pay any protection money as we know those two who send the thugs here aren't real guards" he says with a light growl then looks to him "I've heard of you, one of my best customers is your protige I believe, a miss Night Wing"

"That would be correct sir Night Wing is indeed a protige of mine. As you probably have figured out my name's Indicus nice to meet you." Indicus took a seat in front of the desk. "So two years now, hmm, what are the current threats against you and Swirl? I'm sure they have made several by now."

Diamond nods "The usual gang type of threats, you know, like "Pay up or we'll make sure you never do business again" type of threats along with the usual bodily harm and even death threats" he shakes his head "They don't know that Swirl and I both know martial arts" he chuckles "we also both legally own a few choice weapons" he says "But it is good you're looking into it and nice to meet you too mr Indicus"

"Nice to meet you as well Double Diamond." Indicus looked out the front window and to the streets outside. "So how often do they come to collect once a week, every other day also when is their next collection period?" Indicus walked around the building looking at every corner and seeming to commit the place to memory.

Diamond looks to his calendar "Once every week, at the weekend" he says and looks once more and sighs "Tomorrow is the next one, I'd say watch from afar so as not to raise awareness of your presence, at least for now." he says, he didn't say anything but Indicus could realize that the stallion is an old guard veteran with the knight's and family crests hanging up on his wall.

Indicus nodded, "Thanks for the help, well I'm going to go to see Chocolate Swirl and at least get a feel for where everything is in the shop. That and get something for my marefriend. See you later Diamond." Indicus got up and left the jewelry store heading over to Chocolate Swirl's place of business.

Outside of the candy store, there was a little filly happily slurping away at a milkshake and eating some lollies when some rude ponies shoved past her and makes her spill her milkshake and lollies, most of which went down the drain ditch under her hooves, she begins to sniffle and cry.

Indicus sighed and approached the filly deciding to calm her down. "Hey what's wrong miss. Someone bump into you and cause you to drop your milkshake and lollies." Indicus kept his voice soft gentle and caring, to keep her from being scared of him and running away.

The filly sniffles and nods "Y-yes sir, I s-spent all my allowance on them a-and now I c-can't even enjoy them" she says with a sniffle and looks down at her spilled drink and lollies "M-mummy isn't going to be happy, she said to b-be more careful, b-but i-it wasn't m-my fault"

"Hmm, I can get you some lollies and a milkshake if you want so your mom won't get mad with you. Though where is your mommy any way miss?" Indicus asked with a small friendly smile. He took a liking to the foal as he did to most foals. They held a spark of innocence that made him feel better just by being around them.

The filly smiles "T-thank you mr, a-and she's working right now" she says as she brightens up a little "She let me out to go get my sweets and milkshake" she then notices his crest "Y-you're a guard? M-mummy is too" she says happily and flicks her cute fluffy ears.

"Your very observant there miss, I am a guard like you said. If your mommy is one I might have met her at some point. Well lets head inside and get your milkshake and candy that you lost to that rude stallion." Indicus walks inside and beckons the filly to follow. He entered with the filly behind him when he looked back to check she was still there and his mind flashed back to the event a year ago knife in his magic poised to strike a colts parents. 

 

"You try to ignore the fact your a killer, how cute. We both know what you are and how much the feeling of blood on your blade invigorates you. You want an excuse to kill these imposers you are just keeping up appearance otherwise. Soon enough my dear you will be mine and you will adore me over that bitch you call a marefriend."  The voice fades out of his mind and he quickly tries to move as if nothing happened.
