gaming Do you think there will be a Fallout game that takes place in New York?

I'd personally love to see Philly, my home town depicted, but yeah kind of a big one to miss the big apple. They could do a lot of things in it. Like the Empire State Building now has a literal emperor ruling it and he could either just be a loon with delusions of grandeur or a serious threat. Or Central Park could be home to mutated wildlife like rad turtles and giant pigeons. Maybe the Manhattan Project is an enclave cell or more benevolently a local chapter of the Followers of the Apocalypse? Maybe Broadway still puts on shows in an attempt to remember and recreate the old world?

There's so much you can do with the city in Fallout.

This could be hilarious, actually. A lot of the Wasteland's denizens don't really get the pre-war world and what little they have comes from terminals and comic books.

For all they know, Spiderman was a real guy.

Except Spider-Man doesn't really exist in Fallout lore. Remember the Enclave froze American culture at the 1950's and Spider-Man was created in 1962. They still had superheroes whom they could have thought of as real people or the like though.

Well yeah, it was more of an example. Or a joke. A horribly planned joke. But the idea's the same. :P

I've seen rumours of next Fallout being in New Orleans...which means lots of waterbased things and perhaps even a whole explorable underwater town/city.

Though, I'd like to see a Fallout game set outside of the US for a change....I mean the bombs of 2077 wiped out the whole world, not just the US. Would be cool to see Vancouver or Toronto....maybe somewhere in Thailand or Japan or something...think of all the experimental/advanced tech they'd have compared to what the US have...more advanced Power Armour than the X-01 and X-02 series and even weaponry.,

I would actually like to see...Atlantic City, though I think it's much better suited for a DLC and after Nuka-World I don't think people need a repeat of it. But at the same time, it can be like a massive city, partially flooded, with the Brotherhood of Steel around the outskirts of Jersey, controlling the farms and minor settlements for basic resources in return for control and apparent security. It would make for a very interesting wasteland region indeed, especially with flooding greatly changing the geography of the state.

At the same time, Philly is not too far from the Pitt, so it will also get its fair share of lore from Fallout 3 and 4. It would also be a prime target and would have been much more heavily nuked, and be closer to the conditions of the Capital Wasteland instead of the Commonwealth. And it would be well within the Brotherhood of Steel's influence. I would like to see what factions it has, in fact.

Not . . . too far?

Take it from a native "Pennsylvanian is Philly and Pittsburgh with Alabama in between." Sure it's not the distance between the Capital and the Mojave but in a world with few working vehicles, that distance is not "not too far."

As for your actual point, if Philly is some kind of Brotherhood stronghold, they'd definitely be based out of the Franklin Institute. If Reading Terminal Market is still standing it would surely still be a hub of trade and activity among peaceful folks . . . either that or a raiders den. It would surely be a punch to the gut for certain Philly born people like myself to see that place covered human viscera hanging from chains and hooks. I wonder if Independence Hall would still be standing, probably not. I mean if I was targeting important symbols of America the place where it was born would be pretty high on that list.

Whoops. I actually live in California, so state size usually gets in the way of interpreting distance. I just thought "oh, Pittsburgh and Philadelphia are in the same state", and since Pennsylvania is in the East Coast it must be a small state. Clearly that was wrong, and apparently a good search says they're 4.5 hours away, which is...basically the distance from LA to Las Vegas. With that in mind it would take weeks.

Yeah so that was simply my point. Not to make a huge fuss about it, just pointing out that the distance between the two cities is nothing to sneeze at now, let alone after the bombs drop and intanct roads are scarce let alone vehicles. Thank you though for that peak of "east coast from a west coaster's P.O.V."

Back to your original point, New York is an area I'm actually surprised has not been explored in the series. I guess because they've sort of made a name for the series in depicting NOT the major centers of commerce.

If they have a game that does, have Yankees Stadium get blown up in the intro:Daydreaming:
