What do we call a baby Hippogriffon?

Hippo literally means horse (Hippopotamus means 'river horse'), which is why in D&D hippogryph* young are called foals, just like horses. Of course, in D&D hippogryphs are their own creature, where the MLP fandom has them as a gryphon/pony crossbreed (None have appeared in the show, or to my knowledge the comics, but I haven't read all the comics to be sure.)

So I guess it would vary depending on where the hippogryph was raised... in pony culture, or in gryphon culture?

* Yes, I spell gryphons and hippogryphs funny. It's a perfectly valid spelling derived from their Greek name γρύφων, which went into Latin as gyphus. For some reason it looks better to me, and I picked it up from various European RPGs who use that spelling.

Foal-lings, possibly.

I always spell it that way, too. It just feels more natural.

Maybe foals like ponies ? I dunno, the hippogriff shown as a pony movie action figure hardly has any griffon stuff. He looks like a more magnificent pony with claws. He could have a beak, but the pics weren't so clear about it
