What soup do ponies with colds have? Chicken Noodle being out?

Do they have access to chicken noodle soup, or do they have some sort of vegetarian form?  I know they eat soup as we have seen that.  We also know they have cold type illnesses.

If you substituted egg for chicken, would the soup still have the same palliative properties chicken noodle soup has?

I know, I know, pinkie's song, but I still like to think they're partially omnivorous towards non-sapients.

You'd more get eggdrop soup that way than chicken soup; and egg drop soup is made with broth since eggs won't produce a very good broth on their own compared to chicken.

I believe they have chicken soup-like soup, but just without a chicken in it.

Ponies don't eat meat as far as I know, so they most likely don't need it for faster health curation. Perhaps just vegetables and fruits are enough for them.

(which would be way much better than needing to eat meat - what a disharmony in our world...)

I'm guessing a tomato base soup with cut beets, potatoes, cabbage and carrots. Made Borscht like that and it was really hearty and warms up the body. Though mine had beef broth and cut beef cubes in it as well.

Almost all soups use a chicken, beef broth or some kind of dairy cream base so probably something like tomato soup is the only choice.

Even tomato soup usually contains meat, as it uses chicken soup (or something similar) as a base.  :squee:

Though I've did science once~

I really like vegetables, so I've cooked a chicken soup without a chicken (nor any meat) and noodles.

Basically it was a drinkable chicken soup-like soup with vegetable cubes in it.

I gotta admit - I liked it and there isn't much difference if meat is not used.

So... a vegetable soup like this totally may be the possibility there.

I'm glad you asked about this, because I was wondering about it, myself---my game entails freak rainstorms and ponies catching colds, so I've had to think about it, and tomato soup was the best guess I could make about the pony equivalent.

But now that I've read this thread...well, this is coming out of left field, but once when I was a kid, I tried to make soup on my own...without any heat.  I used four ingredients:  lettuce/cabbage (I can't recall which), apple slices, grapes, and green bell peppers.  I remember that the whole thing tasted pretty decent and had a strange warming effect when I swallowed it.

So I dunno; maybe ponies could do something similar?  Those ingredients are more fruit than vegetable, but still, recipes like this are plausible for ungulates!
