Soaring Symphony 372 November 30, 2016 Share November 30, 2016 (edited) Seriously, wouldn't it just be awesome if it happened in this movie? The prospect of Sunset Shimmer returning to Equestria is something a lot of us have wanted ever since Rainbow Rocks. It was even hinted at in some deleted scenes of "Friendship Games". Unfortunately though, those scenes were just that . . . deleted. And the writers haven't given much more indication toward the idea since then. But what if it finally happened in this upcoming movie? Do you think it could work and if so, how? Edited December 2, 2016 by Soaring Symphony
TheAnimatorOfficial 567 November 30, 2016 Share November 30, 2016 Slim chance. We're not even convinced Starlight Glimmer will be in this movie. Heck, Discord might not even be in it.
Lambdadelta 1,462 November 30, 2016 Share November 30, 2016 If Hasbro finally decide EQG is officially canon, then Sunset will be the proof eventually. People love her and want her to comeback and i will ask "then!?".
Ganondorf8 11,318 November 30, 2016 Share November 30, 2016 I think Sunset should make an appearance in the movie, but that all depends if the writers are willing to do that. They are aware that not all of the fandom is on board with Equestria Girls, and a more vocal portion feel that anything EQG related should stay as far away from the show as possible. For Sunset to appear, they need to have a really good explanation as to why she has never been mentioned before until now.
cmarston1 5,959 December 1, 2016 Share December 1, 2016 Probably not. But I would like to see her get some sort of visual cameo in the background or something.
Cleverclover 1,526 December 3, 2016 Share December 3, 2016 No. Sunset is going to remain in her bubble, which is the EG franchise. If she's ever going to return to Equestria, it's more than likely only going to happen in EG-related material. I'd say the best hope for it at this point would probably be one of the shorts next year. And even if she does, she only has a single reason for doing so, which is making amends with Celestia. That's it. She has nothing else there. And she most certainly has no reason whatsoever to appear in the movie.

It's her home, and she knows it. Edited May 1, 2017 by Soaring Symphony
Cleverclover 1,526 December 4, 2016 Share December 4, 2016 The simple fact is that Sunset doesn't belong in the EqG world. She belongs in Equestria. It's her home, and she knows it. Thing is, that subplot was cut, and I would wager the reason was mostly because the writers didn't want the central star of the EG franchise to imply that she wanted out. Wouldn't exactly have been convenient towards the series' continuation. As long as Equestria Girls continues to run, Sunset will be part of it, and will not likely be part of anything else.
Foxy Socks 2,599 December 12, 2016 Share December 12, 2016 She will probably not appear in it, since she hasn't even appeared in the show. It seems like a bad idea and doesn't make sense to tie them together.
