Tilgoreth 1,915 December 2, 2016 Share December 2, 2016 I mean names like Twilight Sparkle. Are there other fantasy worlds with similar names? 1 Signature made by Kyoshi.
Hazard Time 1,127 December 2, 2016 Share December 2, 2016 Not that I can think of, though I'm sure that there is a fantasy race in some universe that has a similar naming style. However, I believe that if it were to be something like "Twilight Sparkle", it would be done similar to how Native Americans earn their names. 1 Roleplaying for Eight Years and Counting! Vulcan 3,254 December 2, 2016 Share December 2, 2016 (edited) The Strawberry Shortcake universe has sort of similar character naming schemes, Not too fond of the show as a whole though, It lacks depth... Merrypaws 71 December 2, 2016 Share December 2, 2016 Hummm... Well, in Mercedes Lackey's books there are people who have similar names. I haven't read too many of her books, but these tribal people are in a notable role at least in the Owl Mage trilogy. Then there's the Warrior Cats series, where most of the characters have nature themed names like Echosong and Thistlepaw. If you're into comics, Wendy and Richard Pini's comic series Elfquest centers around the Wolfriders tribe that has names like Skywise, Clearbrook and Dewshine in the cast. Those are what I can recall off the top of my head.
Megas 27,577 December 2, 2016 Share December 2, 2016 There are a few MLP names I can see easily easily work as Transformers names. Hell there are plenty that have been reused such as Fireflight(sometimes referred to as Firefly), Sea Spray, Beachcomber, Flash Sentry, and Rumble, to name a few Also there are plenty of Transformers names I can see working well for ponies, and vice versa

Kiri 7,288 December 3, 2016 Share December 3, 2016 (edited) Some of the Warrior Cats had names that could probably translate well into Equestria, if given to a pony. Also, without saying too much, the names of the cats were sometimes connected to their destiny, which is a bit similar to ponies' names and their talents. It's been a very long time since I've read the books, so there might be other comparisons you can draw between the naming systems of the two. ^^ Edited December 3, 2016 by Lady Kiriness

It would fit pretty well into Equestria. Though, they did have the whole rank-suffix thing. That's the only thing that wouldn't transfer over too well. AlbaTross 1,586 December 3, 2016 Share December 3, 2016 I mean names like Twilight Sparkle. Are there other fantasy worlds with similar names?Hi, as this topic is about other media with a certain similarity to FiM, but not the show itself, it has been moved to Sugarcube Corner.
This thread appears to be related to the My Little Pony franchise and/or the Bronydom in general. Thus, it has been sentenced to Sugarcube Corner.
