general Can someone explain this paradox?

I make pinup images of anime girls and such, they only get 13-16 DeviantArt favorites each.

My drawing of Plank (Ed Edd n Eddy) as a mighty magisword that didn't take very long to make gets 32 favorites.

I'm legitemately confused. Can someone give a reasonable explaination before I lose my mind?

You may have to factor in not just personal taste, but how people came upon the image. Sometimes one drawing you did is all that person will see.

I take it that's the reason why my old bassoon photos are more popular than the newer, much higher quality ones I took. People use my old 2008 photo taken on a very cheap camera in dark lighting before the ones I took on nicer cameras in better lighting. lol And I mean most of my photos (and signatures) are just redoes of past ones that are literally nothing more than higher quality redoes... I don't get it, either.

This?

Well, Plank, as you drew him, is pretty much instantly recognizable.  I'm not saying that the other images were poorly drawn, but you know just what to expect from Plank.  One thing is consistent throughout all three drawings, though: You seem to be good with faces. x3

The first ladies face looks like an old man.  I think they might be a bit too risque for the site as well.  I could be wrong, but erring to the side of caution could be apt.

Understood

I was definitely under the impression that the internet (at least twhere I was going) wanted mostly sexy things. I guess it turns out they wanted humor.
