We don't really know if she's going to be in it or not, whether the writers want to make EQG canon (though they have already, to the dislike of neighsayers), but let's just say that they WERE going to throw Sunset into the movie? How would you want it done? Via exposition? Show-dont-tell? No doubt, Sunbutt will, in some form, be included, and a good way (I think), is a show, don't tell approach. Maybe a short scene where Sunbutt is reminiscing over her former student and her departure from Equestria. Maybe she's flipping through a photo album of the memories they shared, and the new memories sent as pictures through the mirror of Sunset's memories with her new friends (including relevant scenes from all 4 EqG movies) (that, or she has a MMC-like spell running, where all the past events are floating around her), and the mane 6 burst into the throne room, to get info from her on the seaponies or Aquastrica, or whatever, and get to see Sunset and all her past, achievements, downfalls, ect. through Sunbutt's spell before it can be deactivated). the subject of her would be dismissed by Sunbutt, of course, but later, when the Mane 6 need assistance in defeating the big bad, Sunbutt would call SS back to Equestria, and send her in as backup, and the mane 6- due to their previous run in with Sunbutt's memory spell, would instantly know who she is, her past actions in both worlds, ect. how do you guys think Sunset could be incorporated? Ganondorf8 11,318 January 13, 2017 Share January 13, 2017 I can definitely see Sunset appearing indiscreetly through photos in an album or maybe if it's not possible for her to make an appearance in the movie itself. The Mane Six minus Twilight do know of her existence and may have been told about her exploits in the human world provided that Twilight mentioned anything to them. Yet. this would need to be retconned into the movie for it to make sense otherwise it would be a big plot hole that could jeopardize the main story. So long as it gets done seamlessly and without wasting too much time, I think Sunset could make an appearance this way and perhaps in person later should she be needed. If they want include Sunset to the movie, they have to do it for a long time ago. There is no way Sunset will comeback to Equestria in S7 either, unless they kill Starlight Glimmer. There is no Equestria character in Legend of Everfree proved that they want keep a distance between 2 universe, the girls have their powers, Sci-Twi replaced Twilight, Sunset is a leader, they are proof the EQG try to distance themself to the show then why they have to include Sunset in the movie RIGHT NOW? If the movie is the continuation of S7, they have to introduce her in S7, which is conflicted with what they want do with Starlight Glimmer. If Starlight and Sunset appear in the same screen, i can smell the flamewar. If the movie is between S3 and S4, they can place her in there, make her visit EQ after Rainbow Rocks event and then comeback, no harm to the actual canon. If the movie is the crossover, fantastic, anything can happen . If the writers just "screw it, i just do watever i want" then they need a whole lot of stupid contrived plot, expositions to fit everything. The moment they decide to reform Starlight and replace Twilight with Sci-fi, i gave up any hope that Sunset can return to Equestria. What i wonder right now is Will Starlight appear in the movie? Olsen1987 133 January 16, 2017 Share January 16, 2017 i don't think it would be that hard to introduce her to the movie or the series.she don't need any "welcome home" thingy, Celestia would know she's redeemed and heard of her exploits.so she can just appear as a standard "new" character in the movie without hints to the human world.
