One of my favourite roles of his is Kane from Alien, but my absolute favourite is his voicing of Hazel in Watership Down.

The only performance of his that I ever saw was his role as the "War Doctor" in the 50th Anniversary Special along with the brief cameos he made in both "The Name of the Doctor" and "The Night of the Doctor". He really took the role to heart and served as a perfect foil against both David Tennant and Matt Smith.

I'll always remember him as Kane from Alien and Harold Oxley from Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. He has an impressive list of credits and his style and talent will be missed. It's always sad to see our friends go, but I'm happy he's going home to a better place. Rest in peace, John Hurt. God bless you!

I guess this is the first of (at least) a few celebrity deaths this year.

I didn't know much of his work, but I know he was the guy that worked at the wand store in the Harry Potter movies. Every single time I see that scene during the first movie, I couldn't help but love how nice and intelligent he seemed to be. I'm sure John Hurt will be missed.
