Heya!
My name's Alex, but please call me Dusk or Aryn.
I'm 22 years old, come from Germany, but can understand and write/speak english just fine!
My Hobbies are gaming, drawing (traditionally, not digital), archery and roleplaying.
I would love to meet some new People on here and get to know them and maybe do something together in the future or even just having a nice Chat every now and then.
As for my personality: I'm rather Level-headed and calm, though I am a Little silly from time to time. What I can't stand at all are People who are complaining and crying over nonexistent Problems for Attention or People who are cynical dicks for no reason.
I am a nice guy and I know that People feel good and bad sometimes, but some things really get to me.
Still, I wouldn't mind talking to anypony really.
So, enough rambling for now and I'm looking Forward to becoming a part of this community!

Ooh I know that feel. Though English isn't my native language, I decided to join these forums (to be clear - I mean mlpforums.com) in the first place, as this community was and is simply bigger. Well, English is one of the most commonly used languages after all.

However, I did science and joined other MLP forum as well and ... I kinda felt unwanted there. The atmosphere wasn't nice, because moderators couldn't do their job properly. There was just chaos.

Once I was 'blued' in an extremely rude way by a moderator, for rule breaking (which wasn't true  :diamondtiara:) just because I used a colored font to highlight about 5 words. Okay, I know, that some colors (such as blue or red) may be reserved for mods, but there wasn't anything stated in the rules, so I threw a wall of text defending myself. In the end, he was the one who broke the rule, because he was really rude towards me and sadly for him, rules apply to both, members and staff and obviously there was a rule, that disallowed triggering dramas. Even though he apologized me, I just didn't feel good in here. Of course, I'm a tolerant person, so I also apologized for pointing things out and we just 'forgot' about that and carried on, but still, if that's what they have to offer, then it doesn't encourage me to post anything. Perhaps I'll give it another chance someday.

 

Anyway, I feel much better on the forums, where we currently are and so far I haven't experienced anything demotivating in here. People are really nice and staff members are totally likeable. There really are lovely members all over the place. I hope you'll feel the same.  :rarity:

 

Sorry for that wall of not really relevant text though.

Oh, I definitely know what you mean by not Feeling welcome. It's always like they have Little Groups, and if you're not part of one of them, you're nopony.
The mods where I came from were edgy Teenagers with huge egos, it seems, so I guess I don't haveto say much about their competence. :D

And I don't mind that text as well, as I can relate to it! The staff's welcomes were great so far as well! I'm sure I'll have a much better time here than in my previous Forums! /)

Exactly! Members kept referring to specific stuff and I didn't even have idea what was going on. I totally disliked the culture in there (tons of random curse words, insulting etc.), but I was told, that the forums were aimed for mature audience... Okay, I could understand that if not the fact, that the adults' behavior was much worse than teenagers'. As I said - there was just chaos. I literally barely joined the forums and I found an introduction thread, where there were 2 or 3 pages of total spam, curses and insults. My first impression? - "That was a baaaaad idea to come here".  :-P

Honestly I didn't notice any little groups in here (where we are now, that is), at least not bigger ones ~ everypony seems to be open to anypony, even if they're different, and that's really nice.  :)

Well to be honest there were really nice mods in there as well, I have to admit. However, that's sad, that their team gets bad opinions, thanks to only few staff members... They even have an official thread called 'Complaints on Moderators', where you could... well.. complain on staff. That's funny, that they're aware of how incompetent they are, yet they're not going to do anything with it.

Anyway, that forum seemed to be one big joke, nothing more.

 

 

I hope you'll not have to experience anything bad in here.  :rarity: However, if for some reason you'd be having bad days, don't hesitate to PM me! ..Or even PM me for no reason!  ;) /)
