Will we ever get Twilight's family?

yeah yeah, the Sparkle family has showed up in scenes before, but never really being given enough time to spend time with their kids, or in-laws. I've always wanted a Sparkle family reunion that had Blueblood, Cadance, Shining, Luna, Celestia, Flurry, Spike, and Twilight with the parents, Nightlight and Twilight Velvet.

 

But I would also like to see a flipped episode of todays episode with RD and her parents. Maybe Twilight goes home for a while and plans to spend a day with her parents in her free time, but learns that her room has been changed, all her stuff is gone, and turned into some rec-room thanks to her dad. Twilight could be mad about this, thinking her parents didn't care enough about her to completely renovate her room and get rid of all her stuff, but later comes to learn that her childhood memories are in storage, and that one doesn't need physical objects to have the memory of them, and that Twilight can the storage room (and take all her foalhood memories back to her castle) and her dad's new rec room at any time.

 

what are you guys' thoughts on having a future Sparkle family episode? what would you want it to be like?

One issue of the official comics (that was criticized for a couple reasons, but still) accounted for the Word of Faust but still included the Twilight-Spike relationship, by having Celestia's school basically be a boarding school, and Celestia asking Twilight to look after Spike during the times Celestia couldn't (which... turns out to be a lot of the time by the looks of it. >_>) Turned out to be a gambit by Celestia to give Twilight a friend.

Also in the comics: We know Twilight's family has cats.

We have not had one for Rarity's parents either. It is not a big deal. At least they talk.

Having more prominent appearances for Twilight's and Rarity's might be fun, but mostly I'm just glad we've now seen each of the six's families. Now I'm more curious about Spike, Scootaloo, and Starlight, and maybe Trixie after we see more of her.

Not sure why Twilight's parents haven't had much of a presence in the show other than the occasional cameo appearances here and there, but I guess they feel their daughter doesn't need to interact with them since she does have an important role as a princess of Equestria. Then again, maybe they should visit her for a change rather than the other way around as depicted in the 2015 Holiday special of the IDW comics despite it not working out that way.

I've heard this, though because of their closeness and way they interact it's like Spike has spent his entire life with Twilight instead of being assigned him by Celestia some time later.

I have the issue of that comic, and it was nice to see Twilight learn to appreciate her new friend/family member even though having a baby around can be pretty stressful, especially for someone who herself is still just a little kid. o_o

Seeing that issue is why I'd like the story to be expanded upon and take place a few years later, showing how he's not only changing the life of the pony who hatched him but also her O&O playing BBBFF and ever-supportive parents.

Given how very little we know of her mom and dad, it would be nice if they were allowed to have personalities for a change.  But Blueblood, seriously?  He isn't part of her family even if you stretch it.

he- like Cadance, is adopted by Celestial. So he's distantly related, if anything. You can't Blueblood without taking Cadance out of the picture as well, and we KNOW she's family.

Except Cadance is also related much more directly though marriage with Shining Armour, which is why we'd consider having her in such a family meeting in the first place. While I think Blueblood is stated to be Celestia's "nephew" at one point, exactly how he's related is ambiguous, and it seems likely both that the relation is very distant and that he might not attend this family meeting anyway.

Ok how about we have Twilight's Parents have to stay with her for a weekend?  That could be fun given how well,  "moms" get on things and when Twilight's friends come over,  brings out some "stories"?   A fun one would maybe having her mom stay for the weekend also!   Or Rarity's Parents have to stay with her.....that given how different they are would just be gold!  You could get a lesson like "just expecting loved ones for who they are" kinda theme.

I'd much rather see Twilight go visit them in Canterlot for the weekend, as we've never gotten to see Twilight's foalhood home, though.....maybe get to address how their family- with 5 alicorn princesses, 2 princes, and a former Dragon Lord in their family has effected their Canterlot status.....
