If a generation 5 ever comes along

and we know it will, eventually- do you guys think the success of mlp's brand- like g4, the longest running gen in the MLP franchise's history- would be to have somone who grew up playing with ponies and having an active imagination, like Lauren Faust did, spearheading the new generation, to put that passion and love behind it? (it would be a dream come true if one of Bonnie Zacherle's (the franchise mother) children or grandchildren came to work on the next generation, as a tribute to BZ herself.)

I dunno. After the success of G4, the least I can say is that Hasbro is gonna want to get another person who cares to reboot the franchise again once the inevitable G5 comes along

I want someone who is has writing and boarding/animation experience on a critically acclaimed show to head up any series I'm interested in. Someone with a vision specific in animation.

I guarantee that Hasbro will try and grab someone with some background similar to what we see from animation showrunners today.

But, they really need to let the franchise rest for a few years first. They also need to debut it on a better network.

Rebecca Sugar comes to mind for me. She doesn't appear to have a ton of experience, but on Adventure Time she could write, storyboard, and even do voice work. Not to mention she created and actively works on Steven Universe, which I personally think gives off more of the vibe Hasbro would look for.

This generation revived MLP worldwide and made it more successful than ever, so we won't be seeing a new generation in a while. It'll come, but this generation has to die out first, and the next generation won't come until some years later also. I think it's more likely to see a G4.5 one day, but I think the standard G4 has still some life in it

Being a rather huge fan of SU, I would love to see her take. Part of me wonders if she would end up as dissatisfied as Faust with the Hasbro approval process.

It will happen... I don't wanna see any of the OGs involvement. Tbh, it really doesn't matter to me who else'll be working on it.

First off, it seems that she's unmarried and has no children.

Secondly, even if she had children or grandchildren, giving them creative control over a whole new iteration just because of who they were related to would probably be best described as nepotism. I mean you didn't even seem interested in if these hypothetical people were in a similar field of work or what their credentials and track record was, you just wanted a tribute to Bonnie.

That would actually be pretty cool.

Steven Universe actually has a similar magical slice of life tone that Friendship is Magic has, so I could see Rebecca Sugar being a great choice for the next incarnation of MLP.
