Guest July 1, 2017 Share July 1, 2017 (edited) I suffer from insomnia. I have trouble falling asleep most of the time, and drinking JUST 1 cup of coffee within a day is more than enough to make me unable to sleep for the next 2 days. If any of you suffer from it, you'd know how great it feels, living on doxylamine and other sleeping drugs for the entirety of your life. And probably have developed a good sleeping schedule while at it. For me personally, I go to bed at 1-2AM. Always. It helps me fall asleep easier and I'd say keeping a good sleeping schedule is the best way to deal with sleeplessness. What are your thoughts on the whole "can't sleep" thing, do you have it? Any tricks that help you fall asleep either? Share them!:D Edited July 1, 2017 by Guest
Vulcan 3,256 July 1, 2017 Share July 1, 2017 I used to have those back when I used to [Redacted] Lavender didn't work...nor did dealing with stress... What made the biggest difference was forcing my body clock into a morning person's ...Which meant waking up every 5 in the morning to do things (It had to be fun things at first to encourage me to push through with it)...until my body clock began to get really sleepy quite early into the night...This took about less than a week for it to start workin'

Very True....Though I do understand that there are some folks who it wouldn't work for....especially those who suffer from nightmares.

Well there is always a way to cope with it except just waiting desperately. That's mainly why I created this topic, I just wanna hear more about people's personal experiences with this:D
SugarCoatxMarblePie 701 July 1, 2017 Share July 1, 2017 Only thing that tends to make me lose sleep is waking too early, so I should just stop playing overwatch or such before bed, its really addicting to play those custom modes lol. All things that interact with the world exert a force. All things that exert a force have an opposite and equal force. Ergo, nothing immaterial exists [because where would the opposite force be without material as a medium?]. Ergo god doesn't exist immaterially. Also if the universe were infinite itd take infinite time for a god to make it. If it were finite it'd be subject to entropy. Which means an eternal god can't exist. I feel ya. I play games before going to bed aswell, but it never really goes against my sleep, I actually have trouble falling asleep without playing a game or two. GiFTGewEhrSCHutzen-4 8,833 July 1, 2017 Share July 1, 2017 Yeah, I also have sleep issues too. I tend to sleep maybe around 3 or 4am, and end up waking at almost 12 noon or before that. Not that bad considering some people can't fall asleep at all.:D
GiFTGewEhrSCHutzen-4 8,833 July 1, 2017 Share July 1, 2017 Well, there are times that I didn't sleep at all back then. And even if I do get to sleep, it's just 2 or 3 hours of sleep only. Dreambiscuit 11,326 July 4, 2017 Share July 4, 2017 (edited) Usually after I go on a vacation my mental clock is all messed up and I end up getting only a couple hours of sleep per night until I get back on my regular schedule., which takes about three weeks. Now I take Melatonin to get my mind and body back on the right schedule and it really works well for me. I know it's just another drug to throw at it but it's the only solution that's ever consistently worked where I'm concerned. Oh, and sometimes a half glass of wine just before bed. Yeah, now I'm throwing alcohol at it too. I know, bad advice, and not altogether great either. Wine helps me doze off but I sleep very hard and wake up to soon. So yeah, not exactly a great help in the long run. I used to do leg squats (about forty) before jumping into bed just to tire myself out. It worked once in a while but not always. Sorry I can't suggest anything better. Edited July 4, 2017 by Dreambiscuit

Victoria Sponge 1,019 July 4, 2017 Share July 4, 2017 I don't think I have it that bad as it only happens occasionally and I normally get to sleep eventually. I do know how awful it feels though when you're lying there trying to sleep and nothing is happening. I only have myself to blame though, I keep staying up until like 4am then sleeping until 2pm which uses up like 2 days worth of sleep. If I really can't sleep I find that the best trick for me is to pull an all nighter then stay awake until the next night when I can easily fall asleep and reset my clock. You can also force yourself to get up early with alarm clocks every day until it becomes natural to fall asleep earlier.

Just sit there and wait for god knows how long, just to get through the next day sleepless.. Eh.
cmarston1 5,964 July 4, 2017 Share July 4, 2017 Growing up I actually had to take special medication to be able to sleep, that I no longer need to do so. So I guess I don't really have any advice for it, besides just watching tv or reading a book until you feel tired enough to go to sleep or something along those lines. EpicEnergy 23,246 March 8, 2020 Share March 8, 2020 I used to actually have the opposite - hypersomnia. *totally not up to any shenanigans*
Splashee 28,599 March 8, 2020 Share March 8, 2020 Insomnia sounds terrible to have. I have problems falling asleep at times, and other times, I just sleep forever. I hate having no perfect sleep patterns (when I try to, or force it, I don't live a happy life. Depression comes very fast)
