"Rose....Please don't make my choice any harder than it has to be..." he said. "The events that have happened to me have weighed in the decision of me to go away..."

Rosemead looked sadly into her friend's eyes and backed away.

 

Her eyes gazed at the ground, adding, "I won't stop you if you wish to leave... But then, I want you to have something before you go."

 

She winced at the thought, but gathered her courage, meticulously calculated the portion, and, with her teeth, she took a mouthful of the bottom of her wings and, as if it were a bandaid, she tore off a significantly large piece of it. It hurt, but it was for her beloved friend, and it was the least she could do for him.

 

"Eat that, hero, "She gave him a gentle smile, "it'll give you inmunity to poison, don't miss one scale."

Erin calmly sat at the window, sketching quietly.

Storm ook it and put it into his satchel.

He quietly told her, "I'm sorry that I'm so angry at you Rose.....But, if you knew why I was leaving then, you'd think I'm crazy..."

He nuzzled the side of her head and said, "I wish you good luck with your relationship with Erin....Just wish I could have been faster..."

As her friend nuzzled her head, the flutter pony gave his ear a gentle but playful nip, "Why won't you get that I have not one relationship yet..?"

 

Rosemead stopped.

 

"Wait... Why do you keep mentioning that? What's so important about my non-existing relationship with-..." Her thoughts silenced her before continuing. Again, she spoke softly, "Not being fast enough..?"

"I-I had thought that I had finally met a mare who wasn't afraid of me......And considered me romantic... I fell in love with you, and wanted to know if you had too. But wasn't fast enough to tell you that, since you fell in love with Erin....I'm sorry..." Storm Said in sorrow to her.

Rosemead's eyes softened and she pressed her muzzle gently against his throat, "Ohh Storm... But why do you have to leave?"

 

Her forelegs went around his neck and gave him a hug, "You're such a regal heroic being, and trust me, you've melted my heart quite a few times during the last 2 days, but you deserve a princess." She kicked a pebble with her front hoof after letting him go, "Erin is a lovely young colt, and I appreciate that he feels something for me, just as you do."

 

The young mare looked once more at her friend, "Don't go, please."

Storm shut his eyes and grit his teeth realizing that by leaving Rose and Erin, he'd hurt them both....they were his friends....and he'd almost dumped them like dust in the wind....

"Rose.....I'm sorry...." he said as he wrapped one of his forelegs around her neck and planted a gentle kiss on he cheek. "....And how come you say I'm a heroic and regal being...I'm just a pony....with some odd talents....not a prince.... and what did you say before? I couldn't hear you." Storm answered to her with his tears starting to dry up.

Rosemead squealed and fluttered her wings furiously, ignoring the pain on the left one. She then tackled her beloved friend and rubbed her cheek affectionately against his, "Ohh that's wonderful, thank you~!"

 

At Storm's question she answered this, "I have heard that every alicorn has royal blood in them, but that's an old flutter's tale, and you're totally are a hero~" She smiled and gave a little hoof stomp of eagerness and tucked her head happily under Storm's chin once more, closing her eyes.

 

"Oh? I-I-I said, umm... I," she bit her lip and laughed nervously, "I think I would like some bacon right about now."

Storm looked at her funny and said, "But, I heard an "L" in what you said."

Storm smiled at her and said, "It's alright to tell me what you said. Remember, I care about you I want to know if it's something I can help with."

Poor Rosemead wasn't sure if she could tell him. She knew Erin would be devastated, and to "think" she loved him wasn't enough. If she confessed her love it would be because she felt a strong connection.

 

But could that be possible to fall in love after having spent only 2 days with him?

 

She snagged another look into his kind eyes and smiled. Of course it was possible. How could she not? He was strong, sweet, romantic, funny, and not at all bad-looking. He did have that slight flaw, but why did it matter, if she had flaws herself?

 

How she wanted to tell him, but she could just not afford to hurt Erin, the pony who had been ever so kidn and sweet to her as well, and had the courage to spill his feelings to her. Nevertheless, she had to tell him.

 

"I said I... would love for you to stay.."

 

Nice going, girl, she told herself angrily, maybe you'd like to tell him as well that the pancakes were buttermilk-flavored!

Storm smiled at her and said, "Then stay, I shall."

Odd..., Storm thought to himself. I could have sworn I heard her say I love you.....

With those words, the flutter pony's heart beat a little faster. She gave her friend's nose a small kiss and nuzzled it gently, "Let's go back then."

 

The mare turned around and began to prance happily back to the grand mansion, where she'd hope Erin was ok. Her head turned to Storm as she called out, "Bet you can't catch me~"

Erin saw two ponies trotting up the road. He smiled and continued to sketch

Storm's face lit up and he playfully chased after Rose, already feeling better.

Rosemead laughed as she pranced and fluttered her wings, watching her friend chase after her. She knew he could go faster and easily outrun her, but he didn't. She raced directly into the gardens and dived behind the closest bush, which happened to be filled with blackberries. "Ooh~" She began nipping on them as silently as possible, but the sound of the berries snapping off the branch and her full mouth chewing didn't exactly give her stealth.

Erin started painting the sketch he had made, hoping that this would make her smile.

The young mare crouched behind the berry bush and turned her head towards the mansion, where she saw Erin painting by the window.

 

She grinned and waved a hoof at him, seeing he was actually smiling, and hoped he'd see her.

Speda was confused. One second she was talking to an AWAKE Mask. Now he was asleep on a chair. Speda rolled her eyes. She walked over to a corner and felt something bothering her. What was it?

Storm spotted Rose in a bush eating what appeared to be berries.

He ran toward her in excitment.

Erin warned her to look behind her. He was grinned but pointing past her a little.

Rosemead blinked at Erin's signals, not sure what he meant. The sound of hooves coming closer began to show her what he meant.

 

The flutter pony turned around and squealed in surprise as Storm was almost there. She clumsily scrambled to her feet and skidded over into another direction.

 

While running, she looked at Erin and mouthed a "thanks" to him.
