I discuss Sega and Archie Comics ending their near 25 year partnership and where the Sonic Comics go from here.

Overall, it was miscommunication on both Archie And Sega towards the freelance artists and writers and the fanbase

I guess i am a bit more neutral about this since i am not too much into Sonic, except for the games. But 25 years for a comic series is an incredibly long time. Most don't even manage to survive half of that time.

I mean, it kinda sucks considering it was pretty much the last bit of link to the Sonic SatAM universe (a show i actually like BTW which ended far too soon) but at the same time, nothing lasts forever.

Lots of people are saying it's for the better, since the comics were going downhill the last few years.

I don't really care that much, since I'm not a fan of the comics, but it's still something to keep your eyes on, I guess.

Not entirely surprised since the comic went on hiatus/cancellation. It sounded like they were gonna go for a reboot with the whole Megaman cross over, but decided just to end it there. Shame too, cause unlike the games & most of the TV shows, the Archie/Sat-Am universe had more consistency and was more daring in it's plot, action, and characters., all in a fleshed out universe, with lore that even the games couldn't compete with. If they were looking for a way to reboot sonic, the Archie-verse cannon is where they should've gone.
