I hope you have a wonderful celebration of the norwegian national day! I have now been celebrating a little and have been eating alot of "pølse" and "is"

 

Tell me about your celebratons and is there anyone that maybe celebrates this in another country?

It's our national day. The day we finally got independent again after being under danish control.

I'm Danish

 

Back a few years ago, I went to the Swedish school in Nicaragua and we were always invited to the Norwegian embassy, this day. We always sung the national anthem which is beautiful.

 

Hope all Norwegians here on the forums have a fantastic national day! I wish I could still be invited to celebrate this day, but I can't when I'm just a random Dane in Denmark.

Just to translate the two words:

 

Pølse = Sausage

Is = Ice cream.

 

Also, Norwegians... have a nice national day !

It's tradition for my family to watch the parade in Bergen every year, followed by visiting my grandmother for dinner. For some reason my family decided to not wake me up this year, and simply left me home alone while they went to watch the parade in the city

 

Oh well, it was raining anyway.

Sounds much like the tradition my family have too. We always go watch the parade (in Sarpsborg for me) and then go to my grandparents house and eats dinner btw, it was raining a little here too, but it ended with sunshine later

Actually I juts slept and did nothing the entire day. I remember being grumpy form all the noise outside when I was trying to sleep. ^^;;
