Did I not tell you people would come in here saying Zelda was an RPG? I so called it. lol

As for SO3. I started doing post-game stuff in it a while back but stopped because ultimately I didn't feel like doing it, started a new one a couple months ago but haven't played that in a while.

Last night I was playing SO4, I'm just about to beat the game, I even got to the final boss who I fought for fifteen minutes before I realized he was healing himself for 64,000HP which I'm sure I hadn't taken that much off so the fight is basically impossible as I am now. I need stronger weapons. :(

As for FFVII, I love that game but as far as Final Fantasy games go I'd put it more in the middle of my ranking system. I like the Materia System well enough but it does that thing I absolutely hate in RPGs: When you have huge parties and there's no real definition as to what classes they are and you either choose for yourself or try to make everyone be everything. -_-

I prefer RPGs to give them defined classes and differences between the characters. It's not so bad in games with a single character to play as like in Oblivion and Fallout 3 but when you have whole parties....urgh. *Remembers why I couldn't get into Dragon Quest IV on DS)

Same here. Even if characters don't have classes, or you can change their classes to fill any role, I like to know what a character is good at, so I can play to their strengths.

I'm okay with the way Elder Scrolls does it because you make your own character from scratch, so you always know what the strengths and weaknesses will be.

And I've never really gotten into final fantasy. The only one I played a lot of was tactics A2, which I absolutely love.

And I've always loved how Star Ocean uses really big numbers. It just feels great to hit something for like 17,000 damage, even if they have 2,000,000 hp and you still didn't hurt them that much.

Signature now 99% less edgy!

Yeah, that's one of the fun parts of SO but it also means that bosses with tons of HP require tons of good equipment which costs lots of money. xD;;

I remember Tri-Ace releasing a graphics demo a couple years ago and a lot of people thought that was for Star Ocean 5 since it had figurines of Edge and Fayt in it. We haven't seen anything of it since then though so it seems unlikely....

The water temple wasn't all that bad. It was a nightmare the first time but I can breeze through it now. Also, the time of that dungeon is reduced by like 75% if there was a button for switching your boots rather than opening the menu everytime (I think you need to switch boots a bare minimum of like 100 times or more.)

The first time is never easy ...........

OK!!! I'm sory I know it's bad but I had too ;)

But you admited it: understand the mecanism of this dunjeon is a real nightmare (not even talking about the boots it makesm e want to throw my controler out of the window).

When you look at FF7 he's not realy the best final fantasy.

The character aren't balanced and the "no-class" system brings you more to take the one you find cool (Vincent LUV YU  ) instead of choising them for their characteristic.

The story is realy criptic, maybe too much.

I dont know about the english translation but the french translation SUCK!!! They even missed the names (Cloud=Clad :( ).

The graphism are good, but nothing compare to FF8.

The battles can become kinda boring:

When sephiroth use his ultimate attack and destroy a whole solar system, the first time you enjoy, the second you get bored, the third you grab a bear, at the ned of the fight you're drunk.

And worst of all:

Sephiroth is ONLY half naked at the end (OFC it's a joke you perv)

But there's a sentimental stuff with this game, one of the first 3D PS1 game, the first FF in 3D, the bad guy still considered as the greatest vilain of all time. This game sure left his mark.

ps: Good luck for SO4

You don't need to play Xenosaga to play Xenoblade. lol

Like you don't need to play Xenogears to play Xenosaga.

Speaking of Xenosaga, I still need to get around to playing Episode 1 again. I stopped in the ENC the second time around when they are showing you the war in the past or something.

Do you guys know if Diablo 3 is worth my money?

I will answer this question in the official language of Diablo 3... CLICK CLICK CLICK CLICK CLICK CLICK CLICK CLICK... CLICK CLICK CLICK, CLICK CLICKCLICK... CLICK!CLICK!CLICK! *Ahem* CLICK CLICK *Clears throat* CLICK CLICK CLICK.

Translation: It is fun and enjoyable, I am a Diablo 2 fan boy and I honestly like D2 better but you'd have company at the very least. Also it is a tad repetitive when it comes to the clicking. :P

Totaly agreed.

But it's as funny as repetitive soo I think it's a good game, even a very good one.

Maybe I'll put off my purchase of it for awhile then.

It's not like if it's the "game you nead to buy and play now" after all.

Just dont forget it and, if you get a chance to have it cheaper dont even hesitate.

Ok i'm gonna try another RPG, "Vampire: The Mascarade".

Anyone heard of it?

I don't know if you have played much of the Elder Scrolls games but they are also very good. Another RPG I am personally looking forward to is Borderlands 2! I am going to buy the Special edition Chest if I can afford it.

Your favorite RPG series?

I don't really have a favorite series to be honest.

Your favorite RPG? (If different from above)

Final Fantasy X

Your favorite ability system?

Perk system in Fallout

Best characters iyo?

FFX's characters are pretty terrible, I was intrigued by the characters in Mass Effect so far. Basically any Bioware game has fantastic characters.

Favorite sequences/bosses? (Keep these in spoilers for those who don't wish to see it please!)

Fighting a giant dragon on top an airship in FFX. (P.S. spam dat haste)

Favorite RPG setting?

Eh, I'd have to say Lovecraftian, not very common in RPG's though.

Preferred encounter type? (Visible or random or other?)

Visible on the map pretty please.

Do you like RPGs that are traditional more or ones that are unique in some way?

I like something unique, but it has to be well structured.

RPG series you would recommend to anyone?

Elder Scrolls

Favorite RPG soundtracks or songs?

Final Fantasy X, Besaid Island and Scenery of Spira

True story bro, tell it again. I really disliked that fight though.

Have you played Call of Cthulhu?

The tabletop game?

The fight was not the best in the game, and annoyed me when I was younger, but the concept of fighting a dragon while on top of an airship is awesome.

 This must be awesome (talking about the weekly LARP)

I began the game (i'm gonna be a crazy malkavian) and it seems to be fun.

It's a shame Lovecraftian worlds aren't used in RPG's, there is a lot you could use there for a game. Especially more along the lines of a fantasy RPG. While it's nice Lovecraft is used as horror, and that is the way it should usually be portrayed, you can move beyond horror in Lovecraft. Why shouldn't you be able to play as a Deep One and any of the many other races portrayed in Lovecraft's stories.

Because the deep one aren't ment to be "played", they arent ment to be aprehend by man kind, they aren't even ment to be portrayed.

That's what I like about the Lovecraftian monsters, the fact that they are impossible for our little human mind.

But you do know there's the RPG Call of the Cthulhu dont you?

There is also a video game, not a masterpiece but playable, and Amnesia which took a lot to the lovecraftian world.

I think the best way to feel like an ancien should be to play "Black and White" drunk. (dat's a joke ofc)
