Celestia moving the sun

Not really. We don’t even now what the sun does in Equestria. We saw in the Nightmare Moon timeline during the Cutie Remark that the world can survive and even thrive without sunlight.

Its a fantasy world where the rules are made up and don’t always make sense to us.

Luna didn't seem really happy with it when the sun rose.

Well of course, most of the day is already ruled by the sun, now it's up in the middle of the night, she must be furious (Beginning of Nightmare Moon 2.0?)

I just find it weird she decides to lift the sun in the middle of the night

the sun rising just means the beginning of a new day. One would think that everything needs sunlight to grow and everyone would starve and die without it. But this is a fantasy world where we don’t know if Equis is flat or round. The position of the sun and moon are not dependent on the planet rotating like Earth. Which raises another question about gravity.

I believe that the sun and moon do not actually move and Celestia and Luna just manipulate their light paths, which also manipulates the weather and heat patterns.

But the pegasi manipulate the weather I thought...

yeah

I also thought like "Hey! Didn't she like... say that power shouldn't be abused?"

Well i mean, it was pretty cool but very contradicting.

You can't move the sun willy-nilly or it might fall into the snapping jaws of an eldritch cosmic wolf that is pursuing it across the dreamlands. Celestia knows this cause she has read the Nightmarenomicon. That is also why she reacts so flaccidly to all the villains. They are nothing compared to what's coming.

There is a race to become god. The universe is much bigger than anyone thinks it is. What they have seen up until this point is only one fifth! There is so much sh!t, that they don't know about, so much! There are forces far greater than harmony and friendship... like... Newtons laws and... supernovas! Celestia's ultimate attack! The eldest negi wrote and put all his time and work into writing the Nightmarenomicon to make the weak races prepare for the war that is about to come.

So Celestia can just decide when to move the sun when she feels like it? And in the middle of the night? Doesn't creatures on the world of Equestria kind of DEPEND on the sun being accurate and on time?

During that solar eclipse in the US a couple of years ago I noticed the night birds were very confused when the shortest night concluded.

Exactly, so who knows what havoc this might cause

Is this, like, a fanfic or something? :sealed:

As far as we can tell, yes Celestia can move the sun whenever she wants and it doesn't seem difficult as its her special talent.

As for the rest I am not sure. Equestria is fictional fantasy setting about a show targeted to little girls. Expecting it do work the same way our world does is a bit naïve. We already know that day and night in Equestria is not the same thing as it is in our world as seen when day and night can occur simultaneously and the fact that the sun can be out during nightime. The only evidence that Equestria is round is a globe found in Twilights room but for all we know its not to be taken seriously and perhaps Equestria is flat instead. Its also highly likely that the Moon and the Sun are not as big and not as far away as they are in our world.

It's enough to give you an aneurysm I tell you.
