Bendy 1,821 July 7, 2018 Share July 7, 2018 (edited) Would Equestria be able to defeat the dark lord Morgoth from Lotr? (The Lord of the Rings) Some examples of his power: massive body size, super strength, tends to wear heavy armor of the hardest material he can find. Favorite weapon, a huge warhammer. He has the power of corruption, able to twist and turn once beautiful creatures into horrible abominations (an example: Orcs were once Elves, trolls were once Ents), mind control over the weak willed (able to turn former friends against each other) tends to like to breed massive armies of Orcs and other abominations to do his bidding. Most powerful minions, dragons and balrogs. Goal: Destroy all life and remake the world in his own image. Goat-kun 2,527 July 7, 2018 Share July 7, 2018 Well, Morgoht was made to fail while ponies were made to succeed no matter what. They all belong to a very black & white world. So while Morgoth is indeed quite powerful, he cannot contend with the will of the narrative represented in Magic of Friendship that is in a way similar to the fatalistic Christian flavor that Tolkien chose to bind all the European mythologies together. Hierok 11,831 July 7, 2018 Share July 7, 2018 Well, there are two different situations. The morgoth before he made orcs and trolls was far more powerfull then his later self. He used his power to corrupt those creatures and weakened himself with that. The first held his own against all the valar together, so he would definitly have won then, but after he twisted and weakened himself it would be a far more equal fight. The later Morgoth was not the strongest anymore, but still one of the stronger ones. If I don't understand something or Interpret it wrong, I'm dutch. Sometimes I gamble for meanings of the words. And sometimes I write the wrong words, like week and weak for example. Sorry for it already. Passion 3,484 July 7, 2018 Share July 7, 2018 I stand firmly behind Morgoth. At his prime, he was next to undefeated. And even after becoming a fool and splitting his power, he had entirety of Middle-Earth, Undying Lands and Numenor rightfully fear his power. In short. Scootaloo9074090 501 August 9, 2021 Share August 9, 2021 Morgoth was a fearsome opponent, because the presence of Ilúvatar had given him godly powers. He was a skilled, influential, and manipulative politician and could charm his enemies, as he tried to do with Hurin. When seen as Melkor, he was perceived as resplendent, majestic, and noble, even by his enemies, but when he became Morgoth, he became a giant looming threat, feared by even the greatest warriors on Earth. Only six characters are known to have challenged him: Fingolfin & Thorondor, Beren and Lúthien, Húrin, and Eärendil, of which Fingolfin alone faced Morgoth in single combat. Although Morgoth won the duel, Fingolfin and Thorondor gave him seven wounds, which never healed. Unlike the other Valar, Morgoth knew fear and pain; possibly as a result of his own misdeeds. He could feel the pain of the Silmarils, and also the wounds given to him by Thorondor and Fingolfin. Lúthien commented that Morgoth's life was a "burden", and she rid him of this for a while by putting him into sleep. Morgoth loved challenging people and reducing their wills to dust. He prided himself on his immense powers, giant size, and intelligence, and knew that he would most likely come off better in any confrontation. However, these tables got turned in his downfall. Morgoth/Melkor Pride might even be his downfall he Prided himself on his immerse powers Giant size and Intelligence but he let his own Pride be his downfall The mane six would win against Morgoth or Morgoth would win against the ponies of equestria as long as he isn't too arrogant enough to let his pride to be his downfall Twilight sparkle The princess of friendship - YouTube my ask tread Ask Corrupted Alternate Future Twilight Sparkle Ask Scootaloo - Ask a Pony - MLP Forums Ask Mean Twilight Sparkle Ask The Spirit of harmony (tree of harmony)
