"That makes sense," Oliver agreed. "This wouldn't be a good time for a riot or anything, not with some portals with warriors in them popping up and maybe trying to take over the world."

He looked around. "I hope there are more people like you, with powers strong enough to fight them off."

"There has to be." Jenna said "I mean, just based on probability it's very unlikely there isn't." "And it's also likely there's many of those lot more powerful than I, just based on the fact that I'm still young."

"Well, you're still pretty strong," Oliver said, smiling at Jenna. "I'm sure you could hold your own against a few of them."

He looked at the floor. "Though, some more help against them would be great too."

"We'll retreat if we can't deal with them." Jenna assured "Regardless of what happens, as long as I'm with you, there's always place to retreat to, since I can create one at any time." "But who knows, maybe this city is filled with those like us, it's not impossible."

Oliver nodded, smiling at Jenna saying she would always be able to retreat as long as she had him. It made a warmth grow in his chest.

"Yeah, but I wonder how many of them there are," he said. "Or where they're hiding, since I haven't seen anyone else besides us."

"They are most likely hiding in plain sight, just like us." Jenna pointed out "That is very effective way to hide after all." "But for the amount, I can't even try to guess, there may even be those who don't know they have powers."

"Yeah, but you'd think there'd be a way for people with powers to find each other," Oliver siad, shrugging. "I mean, you had ball tricks and stuff, but what could others use to signal each other nearby?"

"Coin tricks." Jenna corrected "And I never really thought it as trying to show I have powers." "And I think we'll see exactly how many there are when the portal thingy opens tomorrow since all of us are most likely curious about it."

"Well they were still cool," Oliver said, smiling at Jenna, then nodded. "Yeah, the portal will probably bring a lot of them out. I just hope there's enough to fight off.. whoever or whatever those things are."

"I doubt there will be enough to fight them off." Jenna admitted "There may be enough to hold them back, but fight them off? That will take time." "But who knows, maybe this portal has lot smaller amount of them, or maybe even none, as far as we know some of them may be distractions."

"Who knows what's going to happen?" Oliver said, frowning and putting his hands in his pockets. "All of this is just hard to believe. People with all kinds of powers, portals to another world with knights and stuff. It's nuts."

"When you say it like that it sound like a summary of a fantasy story...." Jenna said humorously trying to bring up the mood a bit again, she continued with faked narrator voice "...and today our heroes face the dark forces of darkness from another world..." she gave a faint smile as she returned to her normal voice "...you know what they say, reality can often be more bizarre than fantasy, I just hope we are the good guys in this story."

Oliver snickered at Jenna's joke, starting to imagine the two of them as knights or soldiers fighting evil forces.

"I don't see why we're not," he said. "I mean, we're not invading their world in groups."

"I wasn't talking in moral level, obviously we are the good ones since we are who are being attacked." Jenna said "I meant more in the 'good guys always win' way." "Basically I mean that I hope we win."

"Yeah, me too," Oliver agreed, taking a deep breath. "Though, if we have powers and they just have swords and stuff, then we should be okay, right? I mean, you can always attack them from a long distance."

"The thing is, we don't know what they have." Jenna pointed out "I mean, we saw a still image of few of them, that doesn't really tell much." "Like for example, how do they make the portals? is it technology? magic of some kind?"

"Maybe it's both?" Oliver suggested. "I've read some books where you can put technology and magic together to make some kind of magic machine that can do anythig you want it to. Maybe it's something like that?"

"Maybe, and that's my point, we don't know." Jenna agreed "Though I try to stay optimistic about this, not knowing anything about our opponents will be a big weakness." "It doesn't help that pretty much anything is possible."

Oliver nodded. "Yeah, it's kinda scary not knowing anything about them," he agreed, then looked at Jenna with a smile. "But when we do learn about them, it means we can use it to fight them off, right?"

"Depends on what we learn, but even if what we learn only slows them down, that would also be a positive." Jenna responded "But that's why I reinforced this place, we can look at what happens from safe distance and try to figure out a weakness or something before they reach us."

Oliver nodded. "Yeah, it's good to watch them from a distance. Maybe we'll find some weaknesses they have or we'll learn what kind of things they can do."

He gulped. "Hopefully they're not after people with powers."

"I have a feeling they're after everyone." Jenna assured, not that it was really that comforting considering everything "And though one could argue none of this really makes sense, it wouldn't make sense for them to target a single group of humans, what would that accomplish? going to another word to kill a small group?"

"Who knows what they're up to," Oliver said, biting his lip. "All this already doesn't make sense, so I guess it wouldn't be too out there to assume they're only after people with powers. I mean, why else would they come here?"

"Invasion or destruction, like I stated before." Jenna reminded "Why send whole army otherwise? why not just smaller well trained group?" "And if they were after only certain people, why attack the army instead of sending someone to say as much?"

"I guess because they knew the army would fight back and try to stop them?" Oliver guessed, shrugging. "I don't know why else they'd be interested in a place like this, apart from the people with powers."
