"Prefer isn't necessary the right term." Jenna said before sinking her teeth into her own food "It's just that cooking doesn't add anything for me, especially in this form, so it's just waste of time." "That and the pieces you need to make to cook something are too small for me to bite into." there was also the smell of freshly killed prey and many other details but she didn't want to go too much in them.

"Well, cooking it helps it taste better and it'll warm you up when it's cold," Oliver pointed out, biting his food then blushing. "Well, I doubt you'd need it since you can breathe fire and all, but still."

"It tastes better for you." Jenna pointed out between her eating "And the temperature change is too tiny for me to notice in this form, I could eat a burning log without knowing it's on fire, normal fire that is, I could feel dragon fire, but it still wouldn't burn me."

Oliver allowed himself to grin up at Jenna. "Have you tried it cooked?" he asked, almost teasingly. "If you haven't, you should at least see what it's like."

He held up his share again, offering her a taste.

"If you haven't noticed, I eat cooked meat in my human form, I have to blend in after all." Jenna pointed out while looking at Oliver her head upside down, before returning to her own meal, refusing the offer.

"I know that," Oliver said, eating his food again. "I just figured since you had to at it in your human form, you'd have gotten a taste for it cooked. Humans can't eat raw meat after all, at least not without getting sick."

"Depends on the meat really, not all raw meat makes humans sick." Jenna pointed out "But that's beside the point." she ate some and then got up, there was only bones and skin left from the deer. She licked the surroundings of her mouth from blood "We have evolved to eat raw meat, so it's what I eat when I can."

"I know what you mean," Oliver said, finishign his own food and setting the bone near the pile Jenna left. "I just figured you might get a liking for cooked meat from eating it in your human form."

He looked up at her. "Can you eat it raw then?"

"In human form? I could, but your mouth is better with cooked meat." Jenna answered, not fully sure if that was what Oliver asked, "That and the fact that it would make blending in hard if I ate raw meat in public." she dug a hole and put the leftovers there, burying them.

"I just wondered if you being a dragon meant you could eat raw meat in your human form without problems," Oliver said, watching Jenna bury the remains. "I wonder if having your blood means I can do it too?"

"It depends really." Jenna said "If the faster healing is permanent thing, I don't see why you wouldn't have my resistance to illnesses too since they are related." "But I doubt you would enjoy it any more than you normally do, since things should still taste the same."

"I guess so," Oliver said, looking down at himself. He didn't feel much different, at least not yet. "So I can heal faster, that's pretty cool. I wonder what else I can do? Breathe fire?" he joked, grinning at her.

Jenna let out a bit of smoke out of her nostril from amusement "Not quite, that would require bigger changes than anything blood could do." "Though in all seriousness, if we assume you really gained our healing capabilities, that alone gives you a list of benefits." "Besides things like healing and resistance of illnesses, it would bring with it better physical endurance in most activities, it would make exercise more effective, since growing muscle is based on damaging it, and it would raise your tolerance for pain and temperature." "It could also in theory increase your lifespan, but that's not a certainty, since we don't know how far the possible changes go." "It's not all positive though, because with all of that comes faster metabolism, which means you need more food than average human of your shape and size, and I mean quite a lot more"

"I have to get beaten up to get a stronger resistance to pain?" Oliver asked, frowning. He then looked up at Jenna, grinning in amusement. "Well, given my luck so far, I'll be invincible by next month."

"I didn't mean that, I was talking about exercise, but you're not wrong either, best way to gain tolerance for something is to expose yourself to it." Jenna pointed out, exhaling smoke again at Oliver's joke "What doesn't kill you makes you stronger, not quite invincible unfortunately, but stronger."

"Well, if getting shot didn't kill me," Oliver said, shrugging, "then I guess I like my chances."

He put his hand on where the wound used to be. "It doesn't even hurt anymore. I don't think it even left a mark."

"Don't get too cocky." Jenna warned "You were lucky it didn't hit anything important, what used to kill you still kills you, the only thing that is different is that what doesn't kill you, heals faster." "You didn't gain regeneration, your body just does something it has always done faster."

"I'm just joking," Oliver said, shrugging. "It's not like I'm going to stand in front of a firing squad or something. I might've survived getting shot, but it still really hurt." He smiled up at Jenna.

"One can never be too sure." Jenna said "I know for personal experience how easy it is to get cocky." she suddenly smelled the air "Speaking of too cocky, it seems I'm not the only one who smelled that deer." she opened her wings and stood as a block between Oliver and something Oliver wouldn't be able to see or hear yet."

Oliver looked up at Jenna quizzically, and stumbled back a bit when she suddenly spread his wings to block his view.

"What's going on?" he whispered, trying to peer over to see what she had detected.

"Wolves" "five to be exact" Jenna said "We may be on their territory." she looked around them, there was still nothing to see for Oliver "They are surrounding us, I don't think they have noticed you yet."

Oliver bit his lip, feeling nervous. Being surronded by wolves obviously wasn't a good idea, especially in their territory.

"What do we do then?" he asked. "We should probably go before they attack."

"You'll stay behind me and I deal with them, my scales are harder than steel, a mere wolf can't harm me." Jenna said "Besides, wild animals tend to fear fire." the wolves came to view, they seemed to be focused on Jenna mostly, and when they got closer they started to growl at her, but after Jenna replied with arguably lot more dangerous sounding growl, they stopped getting closer for now, though there was still threats to both directions.

Oliver wasn't going to argue, and he stayed close to Jenna. He kept an eye on the wolves behind her, in case they tried to attack her where she couldn't see.

"Just be careful anyway," he whispered.

Eventually the wolves attacked, but it didn't go too well for them, as only two actually got close enough to bite Jenna, with the three others getting slammed by Jenna's tail, head and leg, sending them flying quite a distance, as even a small dragon like Jenna was quite strong. For the two that reached Jenna, she just picked them up and tossed them away, and as she pulled them off herself, it became apparent that she hadn't lied about her scales, as her scales didn't have even scratches on them, while the two attackers had broken few teeth. 

The wolves of course didn't give up, but before they could recover for round two, Jenna created a wall of fire with her breath that scared the animals off. 

Jenna folded her wings and sat down.
