Oliver nodded slowly. "Well it's good that you're starting to open up about your feelings."

He smiled at Jenna. "Like I said, maybe learning how to be human won't be as hard as you thought at first."

Jenna wouldn't have necessarily said she was learning to 'be human', but she didn't say anything about it because she didn't want to get stuck to that "I'd say that's a bit different with that to the original thought though, since I'd say it's safe to assume the part that is hidden thanks to Talon is actually more dragon than human."

Oliver nodded. "Yeah, it's a lot easier to tell them apart because of that, I'm sure."

He shrugged. "Well, I suppose not for normal people, but I'm guessing dragons have heightened senses for that kinda thing."

"I was talking about the part of me I may not know about, it's more likely more dragon than human because I'm a dragon." Jenna reminded, not really sure where Oliver's answer came from, "But yes, we can tell who's dragon and who's not, I remember mentioning it at some point, though it isn't really because of our better senses, but because a sense other creatures don't have, we can sense each other's presence, even without sensing anything else."

"So if there was another dragon nearby," Oliver guessed, "then you'd be able to tell. That might be useful if we're looking for allies out here."

He smiled at Jenna. "It'll help knowing we're not alone."

"Yes, but they could also be able to tell I'm nearby, and they could be, and more likely would be considering the number difference, a Talon member, like a Viper for example." Jenna pointed out "If we want allies, we need to be extra careful with it."

"Yeah, though I'm sure you can tell them apart," Oliver pointed out, smiling at Jenna. "I think you have some good instincts for telling who to trust or not."

He looked ahead. "You're far more in tune with dragons after all."

"I appreciate the trust, but being able to figure out if one can be trusted usually requires interaction with them." Jenna responded "And if they happen to be a Talon member, there probably isn't that much time to interact." "But, there is signs that can signal intent before anything happens, for example smell of fear is pretty telling."

"Oh yeah," Oliver said, "I heard animals can smell fear. I figure dragons can too."

He blinked. "Would that mean they're scared of you? Or at least to fight you? You'd think they'd be pretty confident."

"Actually it's the rogues that are more likely to feel scared, after all, like me, they can only tell another dragon is nearby, and like me, their first assumption most likely is that it's Talon." Jenna explained "And fear isn't the only thing we can sense, it was just an example, things like hostility, anger...things like that, there's quite a lot you can tell about a creature without seeing it." "But...then we have to remember that we are taught to fake these things, and if you're good enough with that, you can fool another dragon too."

"Well, that'll be useful for finding allies," Oliver pointed out, grinning as he took a turn. "If they smell like fear, then they should be friendly, right And if they're hostile or angry or something they're likely Talon?"

"True, but even it isn't a sure way to tell them apart, because like I said, we, as in dragons who grow up in Talon, have been taught to fake these things, and with enough practice we can fool each other's senses." Jenna responded "Thus, a Talon dragon can act scared and vice versa."

"Well, of course there's a difference between real fear and fake fear," Oliver pointed out. "I'm sure you're smart enough to tell when it's genuine. Maybe you can even fool them too." He smiled at her.

"True, but if they can act well enough, you can't tell the difference from far, which goes against the whole point of trying to use that as a way to tell their intent without seeing them." Jenna responded "And though I again appreciate the thought, I'm not actually good enough to fool other dragons with my emotions, in fact, if you remember, my lack of control over myself is the only reason why you even know all of this, this whole thing started because I couldn't control my eyes."

"Humans have trouble controlling their emotions too," Oliver pointed out, "but I see what you mean. I have faith in you though."

He smiled at Jenna. "It's a shame, your dragon eyes are really pretty."

Jenna smiled  "I can show them any time I want, you need to just ask, though now I won't do it, don't want you to drive off road while looking at them." her smile got more humorous for a moment before she continued "The lack of control comes in when I'm not supposed to show them."

"Good point," Oliver snickered and kept driving, smirking at Jenna. "Maybe when we next stop then?"

He looked ahead at the road, yawning. "Well, hopefully it's nice and calm when we stop, so you don't have to worry about it."

Jenna just hummed in agreement, not having anything to say.
After some minutes, a form of a city started appearing in the distance, it was still some time until they would actually reach it, but the tallest buildings were already visible, and more and more came to view as they kept getting closer.

"Looks like we're nearly there," Oliver said, seeing the city coming into view ahead. "Hopefully the place isn't too hard to find."

He looked at Jenna. "How are you feeling? Does your leg feel any better?"

"It's getting there." Jenna said "I should be able to take off the splint tomorrow, it will hurt several days after that still, but it allows me to move lot better." she looked at Oliver "That's why I prefer that I get hurt instead of you, for you something like this could last at least several weeks, and in worst case scenario it would never heal fully."

Oliver frowned. "Well, I'd prefer if neither of us got hurt at all. Don't go hurting yourself for my sake, I don't really like seeing you in pain like this."

He smiled at Jenna. "I know you're tough enough to take it, but still."

"I hurt myself for sake of survival, that includes your survival." Jenna said "Pain is a small cost for not dying." it may have been a bit harsh, but it was true, "And it really is better that I take the injuries instead of you, even if you don't like it." "I don't want you to die because of something that would heal on me in few days."

"Well still," Oliver said, "don't make a habit of it. There's only so much you can take, dragon or not."

He smiled at Jenna for a moment. "Besides, like I said, I don't really wanna see you get hurt."

Jenna smiled "Noted." she then leaned back in her seat "It feels weird to have someone genuinely worrying about my pain...or me in general." "I don't really know how to react to it." "My fist instinct is to try to make you stop it, but I know that's not something i should do."

Oliver smirked and gave Jenna's hair a gentle rub. "You'd better get used to it then. Especially with what we're about to go through, apparently."

He looked ahead at the upcoming city. "Of course I'd worry about you. I care about you after all."
