In the unlikely event the rumors were true

I have heavy doubts about the rumors, and I will continue to no believe them unless Hasbro announces them.

With that said, in the highly unlikely event that they are true, I just hope for one thing. I hope that G4 remains the main thing. Otherwise, would this even be MLP Forums anymore?

What we should do in this unlikely event is change "Past Generations" into "Other Generations" and slap a small G5 place there while G4 remains the main topic of these forums.

What do you guys think?

Well, it would be MLP Forums still, but not the same MLP Forums, as I or someone else knew it, right?

About changing the "Past G's" to Other G's" I dunno, it would depend on votes of the majority of the users, I suppose.

I also try to not believe in G5 rumors, mainly because Starlight could be absent in the next generation, which would make me incredibly sad.

Well I have seen very little of oldschool MLP, or at least don't remember much, but I've been sort of able to gather that G1 was the only one that was really noteworthy until G4. I can't see G4 EVER being lumped into "past generations." G4... kind of changed the world. It did something that no little girl show ever did before. It's much too big of a deal. G4 hit the moon. G5 would have to hit Pluto in order to make G4 unworthy of retaining its own unique place.

Like you wrote, FIM caused a phenomenon that was in the headlines years ago, and has reached milestones not notorious by little girls show, but animated shows in general. You don’t find shows that end in over 8 seasons every day, add that a spinoff with it’s own specials, webisodes, and movies, a FEATURE FILM, and FIM is getting it’s own specials as well

Oh, the rumors aren't true, I am 99.9% sure of that. No one is stupid enough to pull such a stunt.

Who could possibly be dumb enough to end a show for the purpose of making a reboot?

G4 is a goldmine to Hasbro. It is the cash cow of all cash cows! Getting rid of it for the purpose of making a reboot would only make them LOSE money.

Then there's the fact that ANYONE could fake an email and put it in a business like structure. Making a fake email look professional is extremely easy. Even the ant that bit me yesterday could do it!

it's VERY likely. There's no way in heck that Hasbro would keep g4 running indefinitely, and here's why- kids grow up. They need to reboot to drag in new audiences as the kids that started with FiM 10 years ago outgrow it. Not targeting fresh kids is what's going to lose them money.

and the way these forums are set up won't matter. we'll still be able to discuss g5 here. It's "MLP forums" not "FiM forums". That's why we're able to discuss other generations of mlp here, also. It's something that encompasses all generations. Show Discussion will still be used for show discussion, just for g5. Maybe Sugarcube Corner will be renamed to something else, but its function of discussing things that don't directly involve the series  of g5 will remain.

If and when G5 comes, I'd assume the forums would be set up based on what's talked about the most. If most of the discussion is on G5, then the format of the forums might shift to reflect that. If not, it might stay mostly the same. It's really all up to the forum's administrators though.

Yes, G5 will change the layout and people visiting this forum. Most will laugh at our weird dedication to G4, I am sure!
