A mandolin. Not the musical instrument (Dad has that, I don't), but the kitchen utensil used to thin-slice stuff. It was for making cucumber sandwiches for @Jeric at BABSCon one year.

And that was one of the details I had completely forgotten about. =D

I always pack an electric fan wherever i go on vacation. I can't sleep in a hotel or anywhere else without the white noise of the fan to help me sleep. Hotel A/C is never sufficient to lull me into a sound snooze, so I have to bring my own little noisemaker.
