I don't know man, I've read some pretty awful RD ships. I mean compared to a few ships I've read, even the one where she gets shipped with a sink was preferable. She is adventurous after all. That said, she's really a joker card among the Mane 6, and that's why she works really well with almost anypony. She completes shy characters like Fluttershy with her outgoing behavior, she's playful for fun characters like Pinkie, she has a soft rivalry that *in shipfics* can lead to a more intimate kind of relationship with characters like Applejack, etc etc. I only particularly care to ship her with AJ myself because I find it cute, personally. I have very high standards for grammar, prose, spelling, and structure, the weakest part of many fanfics. Often, characters are poorly done, undeveloped, boring, OOC, and/or awful. These rotten shipfics are all the same poorly written garbage, lacking any substance, believability, captivational ability, plot, grammar, and reread value. If a big part of the fandom was organized murder sprees, I wouldn't take part in it. Just because it is everywhere doesn't mean you need to read it. I see her as bi too and the jokes and comics about her being a lesbian are really funny sometimes:) But I like fan- and shipfics in general and think it's really cute and sometimes funny. I have to say though, that I would prefer a fan-fiction that has a good idea, stays in character and is maybe not the greatest piece of writing over almost every book. I like to read things that play in an universe that is familiar and read about the characters I like.
