BAT PONIES AND THE DISPUTATION ON THE POWER OF CANON

 

Fellow forsaken masters of myth and lore, the nadir of FIM is upon us and with it the ebbing of divine strength that the white templars use to keep us in check. Under the eldritch skies unmarred by false illusions of Harmony we must proceed to define bat ponies by ourselves. No more shall we allow bat ponies to be regarded as mere cosmetic variant of the pegasi. No more shall we suffer objections to their inclusion. With Five Sovereigns of the Underworld as our omnipotent witnesses, let us begin the conclave.

 

ABILITIES

 

1.) The bat pone shall thus possess the ability of exquisite aural faculty, their ears matching those of the Chiroptera in form and function.

 

2.) The bat pone shall henceforth exhibit sight appropriate for a nocturnal creature with both reflective retinal lamina and feline pupils.

 

3.)  The bat pone wings shall allow them to be more maneuverable yet slower than their pegasi counterparts.

 

4.) Something else?

As most of you are aware, the wretched servants of malignant light have taken the bat pone home and turned it into a graveyard of hopes and dreams. Hollow Shades is no longer a dark, sylvan refuge that our fandom has envisioned. Does such refuge need a new name? Or shall you bow down and let the very people who have trampled these dreams turn our bat pones into yet another canister of plot fuel for the friendship problem machine? No more, I say. No caves where they would live like friendless savages. I demand a city. In cavers? In deep woods? It does not matter as long as it is free of friendship machinations. So where would you have them?

 

ALLEGIANCE

Lunar Guard is one thing, but should most bat pones follow a more independent route that is not as tightly linked to Equestria as are those of other tribes? They are definitely not a part of Equestrian society, and those of you who wish to glue them to Princess Luna note that their tribe should have existed before her birth and after her banishment. If there needs to be a princess, then let her be a bat pony who can stand beside an alicorn, not beneath one.
