music Songwriting Advice

I want to preface this by saying that this is an old song idea I've had for a while, but have struggled to figure out how to approach. I was initially struck with inspiration while listening to the Beach Boys' fourth album, Little Deuce Coupe on repeat; in a similar vein to how Kurt Cobain was inspired to write "About a Girl" as his take on the early Beatles (more specifically Meet the Beatles), I decided to write a song that was "Nirvana does a Beach Boys car song", and titled the piece Little Blue Beetle. However, I ended up forgetting about the song until I really started hunkering down on my songwriting fairly recently. So, my question is...how would Kurt have done a take on something like "Little Deuce Coupe", "409", or "Fun, Fun, Fun" to name a few examples?
