gaming CDPR wants to bring all PC launchers together under GoG 2.0

So CDProjekt, the company behind The Witcher trilogy of games, and upcoming Cyberpunk 2077, as well as running the DRM free PC platform GoG, want to bring together every PC client.

This would allow you to migrate games from steam, epic, etc and open them from GoG 2.0. I think it's a great idea and Microsoft is already on board with CDPR.

This sounds alright, I'm still just worried they might pull some DRM bullshit in the future.

Considering they built the platform on being DRM free I doubt it.

Unfortunately won't work. This is quite non-profit idea from business perspective.

Them being able to integrate all launchers into one would mean that all other companies would be giving away not only a part of their income ( which already is a major factor for not agreeing ) but also independence and control over their own games.

Competition will not simply allow them to host their software without making CDPR pay for it. And I think it's even more true seeing how CDPR business model is a thorn in their side, shaming them greatly.

Being DRM free? It might be a thorn in other's sides but it's good from a consumer perspective because people like feeling like they own their PC games.

Consumers have nothing to do with this topic. It is not consumers who decide if other companies' games will go into GOG launcher or not. What I was refering to is how AAA companies are being put to shame by CDPR and would simply not want to deal with them due to pure jealousy and them breaking out of the corporate greed scheme at times.

True. CDPR being consumer friendly is definitely something that makes others put them off.  I will argue that Microsoft being on board is good though.

A noble idea, but it likely wouldn't work too well without some sort of integration to other services instead of a sales platform.
