Imagine a land where you control the very elements of the world and the ability to shape them in whatever way you choose(as long as it is in block form). It is a beautiful place filled with imagination creativity and the freedom to fail miserably or succeed immensely.

Alright, imagine the ultimate ever-growing sandbox.

You start off in a world. Alone. This world is massive, with deserts, tundras, forests, plains, oceans, and if you're lucky, an odd and rare mushroom island. And by massive, I mean it never ends. There is no border, the world goes on as far as you travel. You are in an infinite world filled the vibrant terrain everywhere. Each world generated is different(Unless you purposely generate the same world as your friend. :P) You start of the day by collecting wood, picking up some odd stuff along the way, till the sun sets, and the moon rises in the sky. At night, monsters such as Zombies and Skeletons come out, ready to kill whatever they see fit. And you fit the ticket. Depending on the resources you have on you, you can chose to hide in a cave, build a house, hide in a hole in the ground, or even man up and beat the crap out of the undead. Your choice. After a few nights, you'll probably have a small farm with animals, a nice house, and a place to mine for materials. By then, if you're ready, you can try the next frontier. Build a portal to the nightmarish world called the Nether. A hellish world filled with ruins, lava, never-ending fire, and gigantic flying spirits that will bombard you with fire. If you can manage to survive here, and fight off the demons that lurk here, you'll have access to plenty of good materials, and a way to travel miles in just seconds. After that, you can try to find a stronghold back in the regular world, where there you will find a portal to the final obstacle of the game...

Or you can play the Creative mode, where instead of collecting resources, fighting, and surviving, you can simply build whatever your heart desires, whether it be sprite art, a lovely house, or a to-scale replica of the Eiffel Tower. Pure creativity right here.

And you can also join in with friends by hosting or joining a server. Play with each other and survive, or blow your friends house up with TNT for the Evulz, your choice.

This game is pure creativity, with just about everything customizable, and left to your choice. Don't like your house? Change it. Don't like that mountain blocking your ocean veiw? Blow it up. That cave over there scaring the crap out of you? Never go in it. Don't like the low-res graphics? Get an HD texture pack and make the game Dark and Gritty, cartoony and vibrant, or anything else you could possibly want. And this game is easily modable, with official mod support coming soon, so with the thousands of user created mods out there, this game will keep you busy for the rest of your life.

And the game is still getting updates too, so that's another something. But yeah, I've been playing since Alpha, and this is by far one of the funnest games I've ever played. I'd reccomend it to anypony who likes gaming of any genre. If only I could get a computer that would actually run it instead of play it at friends houses. :P

it has enormous amounts of freedom.

you can build structures, go exploring (exploring caves are surprisingly relaxing, until a gigantic spider punches you in the face) you can go on rampages killing everything you see. you can make advanced "electronic" circuits. one guy even constructed a calculator in minecraft. some people compose music. and of course there is pixel art (my preffered usage of MC, seeing as im terrible at buildings but really good with that :P) there is probably alot more aswell but I am too stupid to pull it from the top of my head.

oh and you can just go around blowing things up. I find that fun from time to time.

you can even choose between pure building and a more "adventure" like gameplay

EDIT: I would say its worth $26, its less than you pay for most console games and it will provide fun for way longer.

it is possible tho to just borrow a friends account to try it out before you buy.

I still havent payed for an account, using a friends, friends Account lulz

this thread is old and there is really no reason of for me to post here but screw it I will explain to no one what Minecraft is about

http://img2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20140121141134/cardfight/images/5/5c/Sad-forever-alone-face-only-l.png

its a game that has no end according to the game "your imagination is your limit" there is 2 modes for console and 4 modes for PC console has Survival and Creative the PC has both of those plus Hardcore and Spectator

Survival is the oval main game you start out with nothing unless you play the console then you start out with a map basically your overall objective is to survive alone or with friends

Creative is where you are god mode and you can fly you can also spawn infinite of any block or mob from the game its a mode meant for your imagination to go wild

Hardcore some don't consider this a mode but I do its basically Survival mode but when you die your dead for good and you have to leave the lobby

Spectator is new to the PC its exactly what it sounds like you cannot be seen by players of mobs you can't build, attack, or open doors but you can fly around the map with no clip or spectate people classically in 3rd person or 1st person

well that's Minecraft
