gaming European court rules Nintendo doesn't have to allow Eshop preorders to be cancelled.

I still have no idea why someone would pre-order a game from a big company. I mean it's digital, it's not like the shop has a limited number of CDs in stock and when they run out you have to wait. And it's not kickstarter where the preorder helps fund the development.

Saw a video about it, and it really does sound like Nintendo is being scummy here. Not only do other platforms like Steam fare fine with refunds, their customers don't have to worry about spending $60 on a game before it comes out only to find out that it isn't satisfactory and they essentially wasted their money on there.

"Caveat Emptor" may sound fancy, but that doesn't mean it's based on sound moral principles.

And this is why I hardly ever pre-order games. The only exception I make is if it's a franchise that I really want to show my support to like what I did with Devil May Cry 5. Otherwise, I don't bother when I can wait, especially if it's something digital that I can download and buy at any time.
