Because mostly everybody IRL are sad and depressed, however, they don't have a safe place to express it. It is different here. This is a safe place and therefore people are much more open about their feelings here. They feel safe to express themselves here.

I have heard that it is common for youth and young adults to feel more negative than usual. And this forum has a lot of young adults. (Like the rest of the internet)

The  grown ups here are pretty cool though.
