Issue 9, after months of TYT, is such a breath of fresh air. The writing, the characterization, the faces... 10/10 across the board.

Sweet mother of Luna, I wish G5 was being handled better than it currently is, because there's so much good in it, but it's being strangled with its presentation and release schedule.

Well one thing I like as I stated in my intro thread neither here nor there is them so far having a good done in one approach with even the first 10 issues being enjoyable on their own with smaller stories.

In my opinion, the comics for G4 and G5 generally have better storylines than the animated series. It's not to say that the animated media is terrible, but there is a big difference in the writing that you cannot help but notice.

Even kind of true for the Simpsons Comics when they were still going on.

And like I said before, a nice bonus of the G5 comic is that even during the Discord arc, there is always a done in one story so that each issue can stand on it's own even if some stuff carries over.

Personally I love the comics as well as Make Your Mark and Tell Your Tale. Comics for sure are even better and more fun than both shows, as much as I like them. I loved how Discord reappeared in the G5 comics and I've been faithfully getting a comic every month for the last year or so. It's so much fun.

I absolutely love the comics, the little side comics have really hooked me. They are fun and interesting!! I'll have to start collecting the main comics again since there's only 20 and I have 2 already then

I don't think the comics are better than the shows, but I think the main series of the comics has been great and I am excited to read the last five issues of it in the near future. Set Your Sail and Maretime Mysteries look awesome too. :coolandhip:

I bought the comics a few months ago and finally had time to read it last night and early this afternoon. It's not bad. The comics gave a pretty good intro. Discord going evil just shocked me. I am left with alot of questions than answers. Why was Canterlot abandoned and how did Discord become evil?

Comics are great addition to the lore in both generations.

There is even the whole G4 Season 10 as in this form and it's great :) and amazing addition to canon (if it's not in contradiction to the show, which in this kind it is not) - also it's very understandable that it was never made as animated show. Would be veeery expensive.
