I promise its not a virus. I made this game as a final project for my computer game design class in high school (which I just graduated from on the 8th). On a scale of 1 to 5, one being the worst and five being the best, my game rated on average about....4.5 or so. I didnt get a single vote below three, I know that much (then again, not to sound like a total di....jerk... alot of the games my classmates made were complete garbage). I think the game is alright, but evidentally the people in my class loved the game.

Oh, and it does have ponies in it, if you were curious. And yes, I know the music is kinda iffy, but the sound was added in at the end, and by that point I was just trying to put SOMETHING in it, so i picked the first thing in my files I had. So yeah, tell me what you guys think. I would love to hear your feedback, tell me if you love it, or think that It should be dragged out into the street and shot. Either way, I would love to hear it.

Oh, and there is an easter egg in it. To activate it, you need to know who the smartest character from any anime is. Heh heh, I'm sure thats pretty obvious.

I'm going to give it a shot. Being a fellow programmer I might be able to get some diffrent perspective. Figured I'd give it a shot. So I beat it with all ponies. Good game my friend. Keep up this work.

Very solid. I've seen much worse from the game maker community. Hopefully you continue on with this as a hobby.

It takes a bit to learn the path of the projectiles but once you get the hang of those the game becomes quite enjoyable.

I'll give it a shot.

Though the way you speak of your programming class reminds me of my Creative Writing class.

I made decent work that everyone seemed to love.

But they made shit so I seemed like God by comparison! (Even most of them would admit they made shit, but wouldn't admit that my work was anything less than great).

Classmates can be weird...

But I'll make sure to try out your game!

Pretty good actually.

Though I'm not a huge fan of the genre myself. (Dodging tiny objects is not something I'm too fond of)

Not bad.

Better than the stuff that seems to get made around my era.

I want to a regional computer fair for my school. (I entered a Video that I half-assed the editing, got 2nd place though).

My friend made a game that was Star Trek-ish, though he made it Visual Basic for some odd reason.

He came in dead last since the other games were made in better Programming Formats. Though sadly the winner was literally a game about 2 players rolling a die to see who wins the round. REALLY? That won? You're kidding me?

Not bad... I found Fluttershy easiest to play as, because of the wavy projectiles. Rainbow's straight projectiles just didn't suit me, and Pinkies random projectiles were too hard to control...

I was actually trying to make a game like this for a while, but I stopped because I couldn't get the controls to work perfectly. Oh well, just another file added to my hard drive of unfinished work...

I got tons of those. I was probably only able to finish this because it was for a class.

i love it.

thank you very much. I know the music choice and sound effects are not perfect, but im glad you enjoyed it.

yeah, originally I had all the characters shoot in the same way, but I decided that was boring. So I decided to make each character shoot in a way that suited their personality. RD was really straightforward, since she is all about just going fast, fast, straight bullets worked best for her. Pinkie is crazy and random, so her bullets mirror that. And fluttershy is gently and graceful, so her bullets have an nice even, peaceful arc. It just so happens that that makes her the easiest to use. Oh well. By the way, did you find the easter egg?

I'll give it a shot.

I can see how that would upset you, that dice game seems pretty boring to me. Thanks for playing it. ALso, whats visual basic?

thanks, you have no idea how hard it was to put any semblence of balance into my characters. Im not to good at that, and this is the first game that I have made on my own.

as a hobby? I hope so, mabey even make it into a career (not game maker, game MAKING) I put alot of work into this game. Anything you could think of that would make it more fun?

thanks, got any advice to improve it?

The only thing I could think of would be to upgrade the bullets, but even then...

It's good that it's finished and is pretty polished. That is a rare feat alone for the average gamemaker user.

Your going to have to make a completely different game if you want it to stand out because right now it just looks like a more advanced version/modified version of one of the tutorials they give you which is fine, your a beginner. If you want to make a game that people think more of then just a flash-type game, you need to make a new experience for them. You have to come up with unique game mechanics and game play to interest the player who has, at their finger tips, thousands of professionally made games.

It's hard to make memorable games as an indie game maker so you have to get creative. Make something they haven't seen yet. Of course you may not be at the level to make something they haven't seen yet which is fine. Continue making small simple games and soon you'll be at the level to make game's they haven't seen yet. (of course by then you might move on to a better engine like Unity or coding it from scratch with C++ or Java)

Visual Basic is not a gaming programming language at all!

Basically you create forms with it. Basic programs with text fields, command buttons, text boxes, etc.

Oddly enough he did make a "game" with it somehow.

Sure I can suggest maybe some more random boss attacks, because after you got into the feel of things it got kind of easy to predict so. I'd say start with that because after you found 'the sweet spot' with all the ponies. All of the sweets spots being different than the others. I found it pretty enjoyable. I found it pretty easy after the sweet spot was found. I found Rainbow Dash the most challenging to beat. Other than that keep me posted if your going to make more levels and stuff when you do send me a message or something and I will certainly come back and give it another go. I rather enjoyed this game because, it was just like a flash game so I was very addicted to it and found it hard to quit until I beat it with everypony.

Keep me posted~~

oh, and sorry about the ear rape. I had trouble finding suitable music, and by the time I did, I completely forgot to try to change the volume and stuff. My bad...heh heh....sorry.

wow, thanks for the advice. I was planning on learning c++ or something similar over this summer since I have nothing better to do anyways.

Pretty good!

Beat with all characters and only raged once at the shadowbolt with Pinkie Pie.

Also, Pinkie Pie's theme is awesome!

I cant take credit for that, its comes from youtube, its pinkies theme for fighting is magic.

I suppose thats impressive, in its own right.
