Favorite sibling dynamic in the show?

Recommended Posts

Of the many things Friendship is Magic did well, I think it has some of the best depictions of sibling dynamics in an animted show.  Odds are, anyone who has siblings of their own can identify with the characters in the show.

So, which group of siblings would you say is your favorite: Which ones do you connect to the most or do you think had the best episodes?

Sound off!

Do RD and Scootaloo count? If so, them, if not the Twilight and Shining

They absolutely count, even if there's no blood relation.

Apple family is the nicest with Applejack, Apple Bloom, and Big Mac watching out for one another.

Pie family is probably the most familiar!

Rarity and SweetieBelle are probably the closest to my actual dynamic with my siblings but I also absolutely love the sibling dynamic between Twilight and Spike.

Cadence & Twilight, Twilight needs empathetic insight & emotional/subjective context & perspective quite often, when she gets these in bold strokes from Cadence it feels very organic, wholesome & sincere. Cadence simplifies a passionate and emotional perspective like Applejack does with conventional wisdom and common sense. Cadence is very down to Earth and sensitive and this isn't a dynamic twilight is used to.

You can tell Twilight genuinely looks up to Cadence and understands that she is a highly intelligent mare with a subjective and emotional mind set with areas of wisdom she has no experience with and has not yet explored.

There's is probably the most contentious but also the most loving. Despite their conflicting personalities and squabbles, they care for and love each other.

Very good episode, family should have natural communication skills as their ancestors have created a dynasty or heritage for them to BUILD ON rather than rest upon, this episode is very organic, people forget that Applejack's family own 200 acres and Rarity is just a pretty girl good at cosmetics in a small house. Her family dynamic is broken and you can tell not only by the relationship she had with Sweetie Belle, but how she interacts with her parents. It's good for them to experience something together that requires each others trust and cooperation so that it becomes habitual and something that they can look to to remember how good of a team they are when they actually communicate together. Having to trick Sweetie was her own fault, but the fact that she went through that much trouble to prove her loyalty is the tell all for everything.
